Birds have the unique ability to fly because GOD made them that way. Their job is varied but crucial for the environment.
Parrots- They eat the hard fruits and nuts, and when they fly for miles a day they defecate the seeds and the seeds are spread out and new trees frow there, also parrots are messy eaters and what they drop from the trees the animals that cant reach the food eat the scraps the parrots drop.
Pigeons- Ok they are useful to the environment belioeve it or not, pigeons are heavy bodied birds with lots of protein on them and eat a varied diet, sparrow hwks and perigion falcon commonly prey upon pigeons and feed them to their young and the chicks grow fast on this nutrient rich diet.
Eagles/Hawks- Eat rabbits, ducks, and pigeons they help control the population so all the plant eaters dont starve to death. And what part of the carcus isnt eaten goes to predators that normally dont get to catch these animals, such as shunks, porcupines, bears, and foxes, they will eat the left overs.
Robins/blue jays/cardinals/scrub jays/bluebirds- are seed, insect, and fruit eaters, primarily insect so they help control the population of grass hoppers and crickets, the fruits they eat are primarilly berries and when they fly and defecate they spread the fruit seeds, and the digested insects in the feces helps the berry bush or tree grow faster.
Every bird that flys or not provides a use for the environment that wouldnt happen or happen as quickly, if it couldnt fly.
I hope this helps

Birds evovled about 2 hundred million years ago from tree-dwelling reptiles. They evovled feathers to help keep themselves and their eggs warm. Wings evolved to help them glide from tree to tree, and this led eventually to full flight. There are many thousands of bird species today. So, it is not a question of whether they are meant to fly, evolution has determined that they will.

that is a good, exhilarating adventure to launch a chook that I easily have nursed decrease back to well being and watch it fly off to affix it is flock. The chook is chuffed,i'm chuffed. regrettably ,if the wing has been damaged, although if it mended , it frequently won't be able to save up with it is flock and it is purely danger of survival is to be lovingly cared for by a human.
