I've done some reading about Buddism lately so the questions has been on my mind.
The illustration I like best about reincarnation is about how you are always changing as you grow. If you have a 60 year old man that man was once a child of 6. But he is not really the same person as the child of 6 nor is he another person. But (according the book I listed below) after he dies the energies that made him up go into making up another person who is not really him, but is not really another person either.
This is a paraprase and I hope I't not getting it wrong 'cause it's really confusing.

I get the bit about the child and the man, but I don't believe that your 'energies' (karma or whatever) actually live past your death. Seems to me that the only energy that survives you at your death is a bit of heat which quicky dissipates.

So as much as I like much of the teachings of Buddhism, I can't say that I believe in Reincarnation.

If you research the subject, you may discover that something inside you says "yes, this is true." The very fact that you ask this question is an indication that you already know the answer deep down. Don't fight it - the reality of reincarnation was for me the first stepping stone on a journey into the realization that we are truly spiritual beings having a human experience.

I would recommend Neale Donald Walsh's book Conversations With God.

Can't say that I do, although it's sounds no stranger than the mainstream religions. I don't see the point of being reincarnated if you don't remember the past lives. I know they have an explanation for that, which does make some sense, but I don't find the explanation sound enough

I haven't found any explanation for any religion to be sound enough. The bottom line is - no real proof.

Actually reincarnation happens on the life before you incarnated into this one, which is a lower level of the game. When you decide to take upon the challenge of earth life, it's much more difficult but you advance much faster. What we do now is called simultaneous incarnation which means your higher self extends a part of it self hundreds of time all throughout time all at once, which allows it to gain experiences in all aspects of life including races, genders, social standing etc... all game pieces are on different levels of awareness and each as a mission to complete, which could be killing someone just for the experience (could be a low level game piece), or being on drugs, poor, no matter what the race or gender each life poses a challenge and eventually once all experiences are gathered you graduate to higher much better levels of experiences. Think about it, we are born into this world with no memories of our true nature which is immortal energy beings to become mortals with no abilities, each game piece has it's destiny to fulfill but their is no guarantee it will, because it's given free will the higher self has to abide by rules and can not interfere unless game rules permit. Think about hgh level video games that we play, this existence is similar but more complex.

Where did the idea of Reincarnation come from. From the logic that I am today, I was yesterday and will be tomorrow...so where was I before my birth and where will I be after my death...when we ponder upon these things, someone comes with an explanation that sounds acceptable...there is a quite satisfying construct that says there are no persons, what to talk about reincrnation of the 'person'? ...its Advaitha my friend

yes ,but to grasp the hows and whys of reincarnation you need to understand the nature of the self the science of the soul or your conditioning wont let your conscious mind understand it ,never mind believe its fact only when you study the self will you grasp the truth and then once realized you will see any other explanation is meaningless and completely wrong reincarnation or transmigration of the soul is the real truth it a major part of the cycle of birth and deaths that all I'm going to say you have to realize this for yourself

Yes of course. Reincarnation is the process by which we clear all our karma, good and bad. Only then will reincarnation stop and we enjoy the bliss of Nirvana.

i didn't used to , i always believed the spirit was eternally growing and learning in spirit world .. however recently i have been hearing more credible cases that i have had to take into account
i don't feel that every spirit is reincarnated but I'm feeling now that there is a choice in this and for whatever reason some spirit may choose to come back

No. At least these silly religions have 1500 year old texts. If you are going to be a nut job, base it on something.

And if souls have to be recycled then where do they come from in the first place and if they are constantly created and never die the exponential overpopulation will eventually be overwhelming.
