I don't even need 5 sentances to independently prove Jesus walked the earth; I only need two:
) The fact the Jesus walked the earth is not disputed by ANY reputable historian of ANY faith.
2) Jesus is confirmed to have lived by numerous unbelievers, including (but by no means limited to) Josephus, the ancient Jewish historian; the Koran; and the Tanak, a collection of ancient Jewish writings.
Given the abundant number of historians (believers AND non-believers,) the burden of proof lies upon the "2 lazy atheists." Demand they show you even ONE reputable historian who denies Jesus Christ lived. They won't be able to do it. The question is NOT (and never has been) whether He lived; it is whether or not He was the long awaited Jewish Messiah.

Well I'm not really an atheist, but I don't believe the "magic" of the bible, I just think they wrote it in a time where there was no science and had to believe this magic to get through life successfully.
Anyways, I'm sure Jesus was an actual man, a historical figure, I don't believe he was divine, but I do believe he exists, in fact there's no doubt about it. Even the Koran (muslim bible) acknowledges the presence of Jesus, but just as a man because Mohammad was their only prophet. A real atheist shouldn't deny the existance of a figure unless that figure couldn't be a person like "God" for instance. I guess I'm more of an Agnostic.

There is much evidence that Jesus did exist (historical documentation), but the true debate is what he really was.
Was he a liar, lunatic, or the Lord?
There are many books that rule out the first two possiblities.

Modern biblical scholarship makes a very compelling case for the idea that Jesus never walked the earth at all.

We have more historical evidence that Jesus walked the earth than we do Alexander the Great walked the earth. No serious scholar doubts that he existed (on both sides) the question is "WHO" he was. Savior, Crazy man, liar...etc.

I'm with your two friends on this one. There might have been a fanatical rabbi named Joshua ben Yussuf around the year 0, but anything writen down about him was edited completely in the first few centuries AD, so we really have no idea who or what he was or preached - if he existed at all.

The thought of Christ brings to my mind so much compassion and patience...
I really dont think that 5 sentences and if that doesnt suffice an entire book of proof is needed...I think it is clear to see the logic in most of what he says and easy to trust him since he was such an example...the question is how much each one of us is willing to put it in our lives...
Perhaps, Christ would be glad to know that there's a seeker who walks his instructions than a that there are 100 who debate that he was actually there and win.

no i cant...I'm an atheist and i DO think that he existed and that he was a very respected man. i also believe that he was crucified. as far as the rest of it, i don't know how you can believe it. he didn't write the bible, the bible wasn't written and brought together until about 130 years later. i think there was a lot lost in the hundreds of translations its been through......at least try to keep an open mind though to BOTH possibilities.
P.S. don't judge me please, i tried to believe in the bible and read it almost every day for 13 years, so don't say that i haven't kept an open mind to both.
