Asiarooms.com is the best website ever!

They have tons of Bangkok info, as well as hotel rooms in even the smallest and most remote Asian cities.

They also provide lots of reviews by people who stayed there, and they have maps of locations. It is seriously the best way. Since most rooms and cheap to start with, I don't think it is a good idea to make the reservation for your airline and hotel together.

I once got a room through asiarooms.com for a resort in Krabi, and the website said there was some error (though I didn't have any problems, at all). So because of this supposed "error" we got a 2,000 baht credit per day, per person!

Seriously a great website for travelers in Asia

The Hotel Nana, just off of Sukumvit is nice and only about 1100 bht/nt. There are many great restaurants nearby, so you don't need to use the hotel restaurant, although the room-service food is quite edible. The cable TV selection is quite good. The staff are tops. I've stayed there 20 or so times and have never had an unpleasant experience. It is quieter in the rooms facing away from Sukumvit Rd.

It is easy to reserve with Nana over the internet, but make sure you get a reservation, because it is usually full!

Since things in that price range can change very quicklly in Thailand, I would suggest you pick up the "Lonely Planet Guide to Bangkok". When I went to Thailand (Chiang Mai) early this year their guide made my stay fantastic. It will list all the best hotels by price and give you a small bio on each along with a website where applicable. BTW, never trust the people at the airport who tell you they'll take you to the best hotel, they're all on the take from high priced hotels to suck in tourists. Get the guide, read it, make reservations before you go and you'll have a great time!

Try those recommended by Royal Orchid Holiday, under Royal Thai Airways. They are quiet resonably priced. Try search for Bangkok Palace Hotel. It is in the city center, clean and comfortable.

depens where yor gonna stay. i'd recommend Radisson Hotel Bangkok. you can conveniently go else where as it's near MRT. it's better than staying in sukhumvit area tho. Grand Mercure Fortune Hotel Bangkok is another choice for you too.

Look into www.asiarooms.com for possible hotels in your price range. Those away from Sukhumvit should be quieter.
