Okay....my dog is a HUGE daddy's girl. She follows my husband wherever he goes and lays by him wherever he sits. However, when she's laying by him, she stares me down for HOURS. She doesn't need anything...she's been fed, watered, walked, etc. So what the heck is she doing? I've tried staring back, but it doesn't stop her. My husband says she's plotting how to kill me in my sleep LMAO. Then she would have her "daddy" all to herself.

But seriously...what is she doing?? Is she waiting for me to break into a tap dancing routine or something?

What can I do to stop her? I give her a BUNCH of attention.

This is funny. My dog does the same thing. My female dog not my male dog. She thinks he belongs to her. She wants you to see her and were she is at. When my wife would get next to me she would bark. So my wife just started sitting in my lap or next to me and finally my dog would get a attitude and walk off. I could call her and she would ignore me as long as the wife was there. After this she quit starring at my wife. Only when I first come home my dog will look at her then go sit in her chair. Nothing to worry about just get a laugh out of it.

hi, well there may be a few reasons she is doing this. Firstly a dog watches you all the time. Both of you.. they learn how you react to things.. they learn to watch what you do..then anything out of the ordinary they act on.. for instance.. when you are watching a horror film and you jump.. your dog would jump.. if you were sad she would want to console you.. she may very well just be wondering why you don't like her very much.. i suspect that you are jealous of your husbands dog. Your husband needs to cuddle you both together and let your dog see that you are no threat.. dogs are fabulous.. they can give so much. Oh, and I have found that girl dogs stick to the men and male dogs stick to the women.. I hope you don't take offence at anything I have said and this is helpful to you in some way..

She's staring at you because she loves you. But maybe you should try the tap dancing routine! Just imagine what would be going through her mind then! The best thing that could happen would be that she would decide to join you. lol

On the serious side, I'm sure she is not plotting to kill you. Dogs stare at people that they love. I wouldn't worry.

Nah not like that. I guess your doggy just wanted your attention as well. Somehow it/she might tries to tell you that she needs a companion too. Talk to your dog occasionally.

she thinks she is the alpha female in your house and that your husband is her equal.
your husband needs to teach her that you are more important than her.
she needs trained to obey you and rewarded for it so she learns her place in the pack but still feels loved.
