I travelled the world with the British Army and ate most things mentioned here - frogs legs, rocky muntain oysters, escargot, brains etc etc and quite enjoyed most, but the one thing I can't stomach is baked beans. Oval pellets of what tastes like stale raw pastry in a thick, sticky , bright orange goo - every time I had to open a tin for my children I heaved, and when I was pregnant with my last child I threw up at the sight and smell of them...could someone pass the vomit bowl, please?!

Ah, it gives me chills just remembering this meal. I was in a Marine unit that lived and worked in the villages of Vietnam during the war. Several of us were invited to a village celebration in which they butchered a pig. The village chief got the head and they sliced thins pieces of fat off the jowls and served it on rice skins with some hot peppers and a fish sauce. I did my best to show face and try to eat it but it seemed like the fat simply wouldn't go down. I thought I was going to throw up right then and there. They served us some homemade rice wine which I drank plenty of to force the slimy fat down. God, only time I ever was looking forward to going back to the bush.

My Mum was a great cook/chef, however one of her magazines had a recipe for egg, potato and cheese hotpot one time in it and she decided to create it. We got it served up it looked and tasted just like washing up water after all your plates had been washed!!! Every one decided to leave it including my Mum after she had tackled several mouthfulls. It was yuck. Also back in the 70's at school whenever they cooked fish (Even battered) it had the ocean running out of it, and i am sure it still swam disgusting!!!! Used to make me cry when the dinnerlady made you eat it followed shortly after by me throwing up!!!

My friend took me for sushi and we tried everything. Raw squid tentacles was the nastiest tasting and I had to spit it into my napkin. Alligator, introduced by another friend, was the toughest meat, but it had absolutely no taste whatsoever.
I have never and WILL NEVER eat frog legs!

Escargot. Had I not spit it out when I tried it 7 or 8 years ago, likely I'd still be trying to chew it. Talk about awful!
