Have you thought of going to the Banana Leaf on Linthorpe Road? They are primarily a Chinese restaurant, but they do a variety of meals, including Chinese and English. Their prices are very reasonable. I can't remember offhand what the prices are but it is an "all you can eat for a set price" restaurant. The earlier in the day you go the cheaper the meal is. You can individually select types and portions of food to suit your own taste and appetite.

They also have an alcohol licence, so the adults can have a "boozy" drink, while the children have soft drinks.

The restaurant is light, airy and child friendly and the staff are very helpful. They are situated opposite Bright House (that used to be Halfords).

Hope this helps.
