Are there any? Go and punish the UK entry clearance officers in Kathmandu, because they are the ones who are not granting even tourist visas to those Gurkha veterans. If you do not respect their utmost loyalties, they will find some ways to disrespect you! Of course, The Gurkhas sacrificed their lives for the British to make those commonwealth countries, so how come you compare them with the commonwealth citizens in the British Army? Thank you for raising the issue !

Its an interesting question, but what most people don't realise is that Nepal is no longer part of the Commonwealth, in fact Nepal and the surrounding areas are under thread from Maoist. There was an agreement set between the UK and Nepal, that a small selection of men were allowed to join the British Army under the regiment of the Gurkha's. Although this was never always the case, what most don't realise is that Once you enlist in the British Army/Navy or Air Force, you are technically no longer a British Citizen, you become a defender of the realm, so on this technicality alone, all Gurkha's have every right under British law to expect the same treatment as British Soldiers and once retired or what ever should be able to come and go as they pleased.

Simple. Because they serve this country faithfully, fight and die for it and do not sponge of the welfare state like a lot of others.
They do not need a Visa they hold valid Army identity documents as do some other commonwealth serving serviceman. What you say is incorrect. I have served with and administered Fijians, south africans, Rhodesians & others and the only real discrimination was the Hong Kong chineses soldiers of the Hong Kong Military service Corps.

I simply can't believe that anyone would ask this question. Particularly when this country is teeming with illegals without visa, passport, identity. COME OFF IT MATE!! Of all the people who should be targeted regarding this issue, the Gurkha's are NOT one of them!! Well done the first answerer!!!!

Ask any British soldier and they'll tell you we owe the Ghurkas more than you'll ever know. On the basis of what they've done for the UK they shouldn't need a visa. Personally I think every serving and retired Ghurka who has served in the British Army should automatically be given UK citizenship. In fact I think your question is a not so veiled racist attack.

Their country used to be part of the British Empire. No one, even the English, fought harder against the Japanese, during WWII. (How soon we forget!) Thousands of them lost their lives for the British Empire. They have more than earned the right to live in the country for which they fought. Do not disdain these fine people. Be proud of their service to the free world.

because unlike most the scrounging ungreatful sh*ts who come here, they deserve it. they are one of the best most loyal regiments in the world and until you go through what they have i suggest you shut up and think what you can do for britain to make yourself a worthy citizen
