My back hurts in the same way it did when I had a Kidney infection when I was a kid. If this is the case, what kinds of beverages are best and which should I avoid until I can get into the doctor on Tuesday?
Thanks.

there are many causes of back pains, kidney problem is one.but it maybe also due to muscle and bone.have your urine examine.if you have kidney infection.drinking lots of fluids sometimes doesn't help,or it may aggravate the condition.especially when you have high blood pressure and edema.if its urinary tract infection, fluids will help a lot.

If this is indeed a kidney infection, you should go to the emergency room IMMEDIATELY... clear liquids are best. My daughter almost died from one of these, don't mess around with it. Every time you get a kidney infection it weakens the kidney, and the worse it is, the more damage you are doing. My daughter ended up spiking an extremely high fever and was in the hospital for a while, then off her feet for a week. You should be seeking mediacal attention sooner than tuesday.

FYI: Everyone is saying to drink Cranberry juice, all this does is flush the ecoli out, and if that is what's causing the infection great, but it may not be so don't rely on it.

Drinking a lot is essential, even plain water. Cranberry juice is very good for combatting infections in bladder and kidneys.
