Not really, though it must be regarded as very likely where vital interests are threatened and compromise is unattainable.

Israel is as much or as little of a democracy as was white apartheid South Africa, while Lebanon is a sectarian federation. Therefore in their case the issue doesn't apply.

Britain and Iceland fought the three Cod Wars, which involved some firing of shots and a number of vessels being deliberately rammed.

Canadian gunboats fired on Spanish trawlers near Newfoundland as part of the so-called "turbot war".

Nazi Germany was a democracy in 1933, as was Czechoslovakia in 1938, although Poland was not.

First, by "democracy" presumably we mean a parliamentary democracy with universal adult suffrage, without significant weighting for particular classes of voters.

Second, presumably "war" means any state of hostilities, including undeclared war. War is seldom formally declared; usually the declaration takes the form of an attack.

Thirdly, democracies such as Britain, France, and the U.S. have clearly been willing to fight wars to retain colonies or client states. One such was the American War of Independence.

The above plus a fair number of others. The myth that two Democracies would never fight was an early 20th century myth based on the idea that capitalism would always avoid war as being bad for trade.

Where is there a true democracy! We aren't!

Though not a war, but an invasion, Iraq was a Republic, just like we are!

See what happens when you let one man take away all of your rights!! That's right where we are headed!!
