Let's put this into a little perspective here. Israel had her sovreignty violated by Hezbollah. Israeli citizens/soldiers were kidnapped. Israel rightfully defended it's sovreignty. Apparently you have no sympathy for innocent Isrealis who are dying as a result Hebollah rocket attacks.
If you do not wish to acknowledge this because you believe Lebanon is innocent in this matter consider this. In 2000 Israel was occupying southern Lebanon following the last war. The U.N. brokered a deal for peace. Resolution 1559 called for Israel to withdraw from Southern Lebanon. In return the Lebanese government agreed to disarm Hezbollah. 6 years later Lebanon has made no effort to honor this agreement, and has allowed Hezbollah to reinforce it's position in southern Lebanon without interferance. Now Israel honored the agreement and has not engaged in further hostilities with Lebanon, until 12 days ago when Hezbollah invaded their country and took citizens hostage.
While I find it sad that innocent civilians die in wars, this is unfortunately the nature of war. The Lebanese government is not innocent in this matter. They have not honored international agreements, and must share in the blame for the current conflict. Once again we are seeing the result of another toothless U.N resolution. I think there is plenty of blame to go around, but very little of it falls on Israel.
Woody: Is this the same Nazrallah who stated there will never be a cease fire, and that Hezbollah will not rest until Israel is destroyed. Yep, that's the guy I want to cite as a good fellow.
Eve: I am curious, have you been to Lebanon to count the bodies, or do you base your post solely on the claims of terrorists that they have not lost any people? As for the UN. If the UN would have done it's job in the first place, we might not be having this discussion. Sad to say but the UN is the most useless body on the face of the planet. So much potential good that they could accomplish is lost in the mire of total corruption. I will give the UN credit for their existence when they start to actually enforce their resolutions around the world.

WAit a minute. LEt's get something straight. Israel PULLED back and left the Lebanese border a while a go.
Hertzbollah goes illegailly into Israel and captures or kidnaps two soliders, who are on the ISRAEL side of the border.
This happens after Hamas does the same thing. Crossing the border between Palestine in the Gaza (which Israel just gave back, which Israel got as a result of their WINNING a war against an ARAB FIRST STRIKE in 1967) and Isreal and kidnapping a solider.
Are you an advocate of Kidnapping as a good thing to get what you want?
Are you saying kidnapping is a GOOD THING? IT's a right way to do things?
Where do you live. We want to come and kidnap you and hold you for ransome!
Let's see how your friends and family behave after we do it!
We intend to HOLD YOU until the JEWS and the ARABS disarm and start to at least, respect each other and each others borders and territory.
So, I guess you'll never see the light of day again, because I don't think they'll comply!
Sorry.
Now, what's you're address so we can come and snatch you up in the night and wisk you off to a 10 x 10 room never to see the light of day again until Irsarel and Arabs come to their senses, which will never happen!
Hey, you do advocate kidnapping as a valid way to get things done!

Im lebanese (christian). Ur like one of the first ones who said israel are asSholes. I must say israel suffered for years during wars. aat least 1000 killed in beirut in the 1982 invasion. Controlling lebanese territory for 20 years. I wonder y people want to destroy them. I pity the israelis. AHizballah killed less than 10 people in the last 6 years since they withdrew and none for over a year and a half since hariris bombing. Hizballah did a mistake which they apologived for in a speech but 2 kidnapped people are worth more than 360 deaths and the complete distruction of a countrys economy that has started to bounce back after years of war. At least hassan nasrallah the guy incharge of hizballah had the decency to apologive for the childrens deaths in nazareth unlike the israelis who killed so many children and i remember an attack that killed 6 people 4 being childrenm.
Hizballah also attacked them when they came into lebanese territories.
Bryrose: Didnt u know hizballah changed there policy in the last year to disarming as soon israel gives lebanon all there territories back. Also didnt u know that hizballah kidnapped the soldiers while they were breaching lebanons sovereignty and they were in the countryy. Also didnt u know that israel should by blamed on the current crisis because it takes a while to plan such a massive attack. Also israel shouldnt be blamed for bombing the hospitaals and schools and even milk factories. Nasrallah changed his policies but decided to attack israel after his home wqas attacked.

What about all the wars Israel has had to deal with over the years? Why feel sorry for just Lebanon? Everyone else has been persecuting Israel forever just because Jewish people live there. Religion is destroying our world.

WHY? If the Lebanese govt did it's job and disarmed Hezbollah then there would not be any fighting. If those same Lebanese people did not support the murder of innocents then there would be no more Hezbollah and thus no fighting. The majority of Lebanese people in southern Lebanon support Hezbollah and thus are not innocent victims rather the perpetrators.

This question must be sent to the security council. They should work on preventing Israel to kill more civilians and innocent people. Within 2 weeks Israel only succeed in killing innocent people while they did not do anything with Hezbollah guerrillas.
Israel had a plan to destroy Lebanon whatever the execuse is.

Yeah, it sure sucks to be a Lebanese citizen right now. I do understand Israel's need to fight Hizbullah, however. The Hizzbullah website states that their mission is to "destroy Israel". That is not right, and they are one of the political parties of Lebanon.
I don't buy into the War on Terror or anything, but groups who are verbalizing the destruction of any country full of people should not be supported just because the build schools.

A lot of the Lebanese support Hizbollah, I do feel sorry for the innocent ones though. Having grown up in a country full of terrorists I am aware though that a majority of people will support the Hizbollah and therefore are not innoent civillians caught in the middle.

hello are you aware of what is actually happening ???
The Lebanon ,has been infiltrated by Hezbollah and Hamas, who have been firing rockets, over the border into Israeli townships; .killing and wounding many Israeli citizens .
These same Hezbollah and Hamas terrorists, creep across the border to kidnap Israeli soldiers and use them to blackmail Israel to release the captured assassins held in Israeli jails
.
the only way to bring peace to this area is to;
A) For Israel to defend themselves and
B) to disarm and eradicate, the Hezbollah / Hamas terrorist cells, ---who hide behind Innocent Lebanese citizens
War is a nasty business,
nobody relishes the idea of innocents losing their lives
.
Except the Terrorist cells ,who were seen dancing in the streets, when their terrorist attack, strike a target .
I remember, it was , the Hamas/ Hezbollah, who , full of jubilation ; Were dancing in the streets , all over the Middle East. following the 9/11 attack
this is the mind set ,of these so called '' martyrs" ; for Islam .
they are the ones that are to be damned , not the Israelis.
there is but one God ;he will punish those, who use his name as an excuse, for their collective hatred .
