I have one, and I know what normal dachshunds were bred for. They were bred to go into burrows and scare out badgers and other animals. So I would figure minis were bred for smaller dens, like rabbits or something.

Dachshunds were bred to go into holes and get badgers. this is why they are also known as badger hounds.
