Southern Biscuits
2 cups flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons shortening
1 cup buttermilk, chilled
Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Using your fingertips, rub butter and shortening into dry ingredients until mixture looks like crumbs. (The faster the better, you don't want the fats to melt.)
Make a well in the center and pour in the chilled buttermilk. Stir just until the dough comes together. The dough will be very sticky.
Turn dough onto floured surface, dust top with flour and gently fold dough over on itself 5 or 6 times. Press into a 1-inch thick round. Cut out biscuits with a 2-inch cutter, being sure to push straight down through the dough.
Place biscuits on baking sheet so that they just touch. Reform scrap dough, working it as little as possible and continue cutting.
Bake until biscuits are tall and light gold on top, 15 to 20 minutes.
Yields 12 biscuits at 2.5 pts per biscuit weightwatchers

Why not make your own so that you know exactly whats going into them?
My recipe is : -
175g flour
100g sugar
150g butter
2 med size eggs
3 tablespoons cocoa powder (optional)
Dried fruit, cut up
Nuts, (I normally use hazelnuts)
mix together the butter and sugar till it's smooth, then add the eggs and extras. Slowly add in the flour then put in the freezer for about an hour ( this makes it easier to handle) Pre-heat oven to 175 C. Remove mixture from freezer and, using floured hands (mixture doesnt stick to your hands this way) scoop up a little and roll it into a ball. Place on a greased tray and flatten. Only takes about 10-15 mins to bake or until they are brown and crispy.
I've noticed that the more sweet fruit you add, the less sugar you need so play about with the recipe till you get something you like.
Hope this helps.

Wheat Thins help me, this is a recipe that I use for biscuits
2Cs all purpose flour
8Oz's cream cheese
1TBS baking soda
2 TBS sugar
Soften cream cheese, add flour soda and sugar, mix well until dough can be rolled in a ball. Roll out on floured surface approximately 1-2in thickness. Place on lightly greased baking sheet and cook 375 degrees for 12-15 min or until lightly golden. Allow to cool for 2-5 minutes and eat em all up! Makes great pie crust also!

I've heard and/or read that you should eat six small meals throughouth the day rather than three large meals. Plus drink lots of water.
If you can fill yourself up on healthier foods, then you won't be tempted to oversnack on junk. Biscuits aren't necessarily junk but it's not good to be snacking on them all the time.

I don't know if u like things like fruit, but if u eat like an apple or a pear (or any other fruit for that matter) everytime u feel like u want to eat junk, not only will u feel better about your food choice, but you'll also be healthier becuase fruits contain tons of vitamins and minerals that help the body.
If u like veggies better, things like carrots and celery are the same way!!
