A large part of the problem here is that when you work over 50 hours a week you don't feel like cooking. Stock up on nutritious frozen entrees, fresh fruit, yogurt, peanut butter and so on.
A lot of these answers are critical of your wife but I understand how she feels. Be sure the kids know they are supposed to help her clean up too.

Hi, I understand your problem because I work late every night and my wife hates cooking. I have various suggestions:
Firstly, when you're at home, cook up large quantities of things your kids like (i.e. Bolognese sauce), put it in jars or ice-cream tubs, and put it in the freezer. Then all your wife has to do is defrost it.
Another idea: teach your kids to cook for your wife. There are lots of simple things that an eight-year old can prepare, with a little instruction.
Finally, why not encourage your wife to cook? You could try it together at first (it can be fun!) and then let her take small steps when she's ready. One thing that may be blocking her: maybe she doesn't know what to cook, rather than how. You could prepare a list of quick and easy menu ideas that your kids like and that are nutritious, make sure you have all the long-life ingredients in stock in your kitchen, then stick the list on the wall before you go away.
Oh, another idea. Does your wife understand the importance of nutrition? Why not do some research and talk to her about basic principles (i.e. providing carbohydrates, protein and vitamins in some combination at each meal, avoiding excessive sugar and salt, the benefits of fresh food, etc.).
I hope you've found my suggestions helpful. If you like, you could tell your wife to email me for a suggestion when she doesn't know what to cook!
Best wishes,
Daniel

If she doesn't WANT to cook, hire a maid or ask a relative to do that part. If she is insecure to cook because nobody ever likes what she makes get her a cookbook and give her some reassurance that she can do it if she tries a little harder. But convince her that frozen macaroni and sweets are no good.

Maybe you could hire a cook. In the meantime send her to culinary school. If she wanted to cook she would get a cookbook and learn though. Cooking is pretty basic. Tell her to watch Food Network. There are all kinds of cooking videos on foodnetwork.com too. Good luck! You must love this woman is all I've got to say...

Certainly!!! Have her get on the Internet! There is nothing to it but to do it. She can make simple meals like tacos (you can never go wrong with tacos). She can purchase meals that are frozen but healthy for you. Things like chicken Alfredo and beef stew. They have free easy meal cook books on-line. Happy surfing!!!

Make the fruit shop their place for treats. peeled carrot is a great snack for kids as is any kind of berries or nuts. Jerky is also a good source of protein and kids usually like it. If you can get them eating raw food then the cooking issue disappears.

it has nothing to do w/knowing how to cook in this day and age. anyone can cut up fruit and veggies. Anyone can steam them also. if you don't know how to steam chicken, you can get if frozen. I think giving mac and cheese all the time is being lazy or tired. Get her a very easy cookbook. If she can read she can cook

It doesn't take rocket science to be a good cook. If she is having difficulty it's more than likely she doesn't WANT to cook and finds no enjoyment out of it, which is such a shame because it is so much fun to create a wonderful meal!

Maybe you could advise her (don't hurt her feelings though) to buy a book about healthy eating. You could find recipes on the net as well. Here's a link that provides u with easy to cook healthy meals:
