yep...everynight at around 10pm she just goes totally insane and rips through the entire apartment running at like a 100mph and chasing imaginary prey, climbing up her kitty condo in a single bound, and just being all together silly. Then she quiets down, licks herself clean and then gets in my bed and goes to sleep. I guess its just part of her routine. :-)

I have 3 (9 yrs, 7 yrs, and 4 yrs). They are all still crazy and tear around the house jumping up the walls. I read that cats do this to keep their fight or flight skills honed.

You mean like, worse than usual? :)

They are just playing, like little kids really deep into being a superhero or something like that; it'll pass.

I've seen some cats freak out completely for a few moments. I have one, who is always a little schizoid, that can go from a dead sleep to 3 feet in the air, bounce off a couple of walls, and then go racing out of the room and back into the basement in far less time than it took you to read this... for absolutely no reason whatsoever.

Yes, all cats get into a "distracted play" mode where they look crazy, with big eyes and lots of running around.

My cat jumps around like a monkey. Then she acts like a dog sometimes.

Sometimes and she is totally hilarious when she is! My can will crouch down behind a pillow and her pupils will get huge and her ears will go flat across her head. Then when I go behind the couch she will either attack my head or jump up out of nowhere and scare the crap out of me!!!!
