I just had my tonsils taken out last monday. I been on Roxicet since then. I was about to take myself off when the scabs started coming off and needed it once more. However, with the scabs coming off, they medicine, though still takes hte pain away eventually, causes excruciating pain as it goes of the raw area. Its so bad i shake and cry every time i take it and i am not one to be a huge baby when it comes to pain. Tha pain lasts for about 5 minutes, swallowing water doesnt help lessen the stinging. Should i call the doctor to get a new prescription or grit my teeth and bear it? the pain in taking it is nearly 5 times worse then the pain i am trying to get rid of. Though the pain in taking it only lasts for a short bit compared to the rest.

I am currently taking the oral solution of Roxicet. I am almost beginning to think, the pill wouldnt be so harsh, but i dont know.

Called hte doctor, he said to dilute hte solution since it burns my throat. thanks though

Call your doctor and ask him or her to prescribe the Roxicet in the form of an oral solution which will go down alot easier and less painfully than tablet form.

just suck it up. i had my tonsils out too, youll be better in a few days. i mean call the doc if you want, but i doubt there is much he can do, most medications for that are gonna hurt like that, its just how they work
its why getting your tonsils out suuuucks.
