full of violent, threatening verses which don't suit a universal and compassionate supreme being.

(actually, if there really was a conscious supreme being , he would clearly and tangibly expose himself, but that's another topic..)

A conscious supreme being is illogical
An impersonal supreme being which even science may discover one day can be logical

i think you read the wrong books. i am only going to reffer to the Bible. The Bible is not just a book that was sent. as it is known in the christian belief, there is one God - three persons: God the Father,God the Son, God the Holy Spirit. The Bible was written by different people guided by the Holy Spirit, and their inspiration came from God only.
A conscious supreme being is illogical when you try to reduce that being`s powers and limits to your limits.
That means its no longer supreme to you if you live by the same rules, limits, however you wanna call it.

As you see..all people perceive [in a conscious or inconscious way] the existence of something beyond what we can see and feel..you can really feel there`s something out there. Let me tell you that even atheists,as human beings perceive it,but they deny it. Ask any psychologist and he will tell you the same.

One can believe whatever one pleases, but establishing it as valid is another matter. An important tool is the following theorem (proven): The predictive power of any theory obtains exclusively from its refutability. Corollary: an irrefutable theory can predict nothing, and is useless. Any theory involving god is obviously irrefutable, and hence useless.

Because I have a personal relationship with my Heavenly Father that bests all relationships I have ever had and He is REAL in my life. I won't force Him on you but please don't force the atheism on me because I KNOW GOD EXISTS....He gave me all the proof I needed.
