I was told that if you take a Pepcid AC before you go out drinking, that it either helps your face not turn red, or that it relieves the side effects like hang overs. What does it really do? And if it doesn't, what would you recommend taking before drinking to reduce hangover side effects?

I would have a fear of the Pepcid curdling in my stomach. It is really better to eat a big meal and drink milk before going out to drink. Also, while you are drinking, it is advisable to drink more water than mixed drink. It will not hurt to eat snacks while drinking; but avoid too much salt.

For a hangover, tomato juice mixed with tarter sauce and raw egg.

Pepcid will help calm your stomach. So the theory is that by taking them early they will prevent any stomach problems. But they really only work when you take them, so taking the Pepcid when you get up is also a good idea.

The key to surviving hangovers is two-fold...

1. Drink the purest alcoholic drinks you can...it's the sugars and impurities that wreak the most havoc on your body.

2. Drink water... everyother drink should be water. Then when you get home, take a couple of aspirin and a large glass of water or two before you go to bed. Be sure to pee before going to sleep!

No it doesn't. If you have to drink do it on full stomach and drink plenty of water. You get hung over because your body and brain are dehydratd.
