You're ABSOLUTELY right! I have written congressmen about this very issue! The problem is, millions of criminal immigrants and illegal aliens have made immigration to the US much harder for those that want to come here to make a better life for themselves. I wish I could give you some good news, but as things are right now, this is how our government works. So you know, my doctor is from India, and he is the greatest doctor I've ever had. I don't think it's right to say we want you for cheap labor, rather, competent workers and professionals. Keep trying, and let's hope things will get better for all.

I work in the information technology field. Everyday I hear about more of our jobs being off shored, about Americans who are training H1 visa people who their company has hired to do the same job as them. When they are done training then the Americans are laid off. Why? because the Americans have worked their way up to a decent wage and now the companies do not want to pay them or pay for their benefits. You are right cheap labor. What else do we get with cheap labor? Lower tax base, cause they make less wages, they pay less taxes. More burden to our government agencies. The higher paid Americans are now out of work, no taxes coming from them. And if they do get a job it wont pay the same, probably wont even use the skills they spent their life developing. Another source of Cheap Labor, that doesn't use the skills they spent so much time and money to achieve.
That is what Americans fear. Spending their life to achieve the American dream, helping to build the world we live in and then it's gone.
Let's face it corporate America just wants PROFITS at the cost of workers, American or guest workers. Cheap labor equals GREED.

It will do you no good to ask us. Ask our stolen government why they allow illegals by the truckload while keeping out skilled people who want to play by the rules. Follow the money. The corporations rule, not the people. We are not free any more, so why would anyone want to come here?

This reminds me of a chat I once had about cafeteria meals. I was sitting down with the meal planner and I ask, why does this taste like "gross". And she says to me that it has to taste like "gross" in order for us to stop eating. If it was good it would cost to much to feed our appeased stumachs and the whole system would fall apart.
