to the first 4 thanks for the commits and yes other info is out there but when u see a biblical quote 90% of the time it is not only from the KJ version but thrown out by someone who has no knowledge that there are other versions and Biblical Scholars can blow holes in all of them the fact is that the word of man is not the word of God (assuming that the deity even exist) i for one will have the answer at my death and not before. it just bothers me that my ideas are judged by people who are too lazy to research the ideas that they profess. and everytime i hear I KNOW ITS TRUE BECAUSE THE BIBLE SAYS SO i want to yell PROPAGANDA STUPID but we all have to co-exist so this forum allows me to vent

I myself do not use the King James Version (KJV) as a reference, only because it has been translated many times over and because it's in Archaic language. Barring the actions of King James himself, I would much rather use a direct translation from the original languages (try the NIV) rather than KJV because the meanings are purer and easier to understand.

To further illustrate: have you ever tried learning a foreign language? You'll note that sometimes, there are no words in one language that properly translates the idea. Try going through that madness about 6 times, (from Hebrew to Greek to Latin, to German to French to English....that's the KJV) Things are bound to get dicey. In my opinion, there's only a need for the originals and the direct translation of the originals. Forget what King James did.

The bible is the word of God and God moved men through all generations to get his word to his children! Now the kj version is good but until you know what the bible says the first time trough get your self a NIV its much easier in the language that we communicate in today! Then when you finish it Get a kj because you can go deeper in your study by using a Strong's concordance and bust every word in the kj back to Hebrew! but that's for the deeper student. First you need to know the word and get a working knowledge of Gods will through reading it! you need to get spiritual power from the knowledge in there to go further! god bless

Most reliable translations such as the the New International Version and the New American Standard version and so forth are translated directly from stored manuscripts using Greek and Hebrew scholars.

There are other versions we call paraphrases. These are not accurate but are interpreted with a view of meeting contemporary understanding.

I don't know much though what I do know is that the Old Testament was before the coming of Christ where people were to offer burnt offerings and other sacrifices to atone of their sins, though after the coming of Christ things changes as Christ was himself a sacrifice for all sins.
