Genius theists? Name them. The ones who wrote the bible, weren't necessarily geniuses.
I believe it is taking your own life that is the only unforgivable sin. And true, even a serial killer can be forgiven if he takes God into his heart before he dies. Just as Cain would have been forgiven. But Cain was the first murderer, and he did not ask for forgiveness, only that God protect him from others. This means that even you can ask God for forgiveness before you take your last breath. A person who kills himself would not be able to ask God for forgiveness, ergo it is the only unforgivable sin.

The only unforgivable sin is to blaspheme the name of G~d. All other sins can be forgiven. I have heard the point that if you are a true believer in G~d the holy spirit will not allow you to do that anyway.
G~d is evident in science ever day. The fact that you are a functioning being, or that anything is a functioning being has to be a work of G~d because if it was just a roll of the cosmic dice where did they come from? Or if you believe in the big bang where did it start. Where is the beginning if you don't believe in G~d?

scientists are humans and only capable understanding stuff that is within rage of the limited human brain inside a skull.
Our point of reference is only in one location in the entire universe where the Earth is. We are like goldfish in a bowl only seeing the front room.
There is more out there then telescopes and white coated people with enlarged bald foreheads can see, measure and understand.
Evolution is scientifically unprovable only a theory based on a particular scientific model which is never complete and is often disputed. It is really a best science guess rather than irrefutable fact.
Besides the unforgivable sin is nothing like what you suggest.
Science is mostly self limiting. If cannot accept God then should God really exist then science can never really be truely factual because it denies something that is real. It is stuck!

Becuase if you understand what God is giving us through jesus this makes sense

Gos will forgive EVERY SIN we had made in our entire life, whether it was being jealous of the kid next doors bike or killing 1000 people, it doesn't matter its all the same to God, its sin and it take you farther away from him, all you have to do is ask for forgivness and believe in Him and it will all be forgivin

BUT if you don't believe in God, this is what sends you to Hell, you only go to Hell if you are of sin, and if you know God and ask for forgivness you have no sin so you go to heaven

so the only thing that will send you to Hell is not knowing God,
its not forgivable because if you don't know God you can't ask for forgiviness

i'm no theist, but i understand that the *only* unforgivable sin is cursing the holy spirit. and you're right - serial killers just have to repent and they're okey-dokey, but a once-and-no-more diehard atheist who cursed the holy spirit, no matter how hard they repent, is f*cked forever? that's just mean.....

and on top of that is your point about the "no evidence" part - we have no reason to believe in god other than a SINGLE old, old book that's been translated about a billion times

The major tenet of Christianity is believing in Jesus Christ and believing that he died on the cross to save you from sin. If you do not believe this, you are not a Christian and therefore will not reap the reward of heaven.

John 3:16

"For whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but shall have everlasting life."

"No man cometh unto the Lord except by Me."

Thus, not believing, by definition means you are not a Christian and that is according to Christianity, unforgivable.

The bilbe has been pasts down and down so the intelligent thing would be not to ponder on any specifc adise from within. It just depends on what you beleive in sir, for example if you don't go to church every sunday are you not going to go to heaven, This is higherly fabricated. Beleive in the god you want to beleive in and he will be there for you when your time comes.

it truly is a not easy question. A believe in God will bring about a replace in what we evaluate to be an progression. all of us seek for to have our lives properly worth residing yet we evaluate properly worth in a special way. those who stay without God evaluate praise (both self praise and praise from others) to be the indicator of properly worth and so that they continuously seek for it from their society. existence is a continuing supply and take of little bits of praise. those with God of their lives have properly worth by ability of way of being a baby of God. they're (or might want to wish to be) loose from the marketplace of praise. so often I listen someone say that they are in reality sturdy and (the implication is) that would want to wish to get them into heaven. yet then there is this unknown prevalent of sturdy that continuously fearful them and under no circumstances is going away. Am I sturdy sufficient? Does this consistent striving for praise volume to a existence properly worth residing?

Interesting--one cannot see air, but science tells us it is there, so we breathe. one cannot see gas, but science tells us it is there, so we can tell to put a foul smell to it. Science, however, cannot answer all things. It cannot cure AIDS. It cannot determine free will. And, even Darwin on his deathbed rejected his own teachings--and he was a highly credited Scientist. Besides, without God there would be no Science.
