If you wear gold the metal would not affect the skin. Some people are allergic to certain metals but that is not a problem with gold. That may also be true of most of the other precious metals but I am not certain that that is the case.
What can happen is that it can be difficult to dry the skin beneath the ring particularly if the band of the ring is wide. You should make sure that the skin is dry after you wash your hands.
Also, make sure that the size of the ring allows you to move it, that will help to prevent skin problems develping. It will enable you to move the ring to dry your hands.

Some types of rings like cheap silver or gold can make your fingers get a green colouring that just comes of with some washing and to get rid of permanently you of course don't wear the ring again.
Tight rings can cause swelling of finger as blood supply is getting cut of if a ring gets to tight on your finger and you are unable to get it off its best getting the ring cut off.
When you remove a ring you may have a tan line.
Allergies most commonly caused by nickel its present in gold up to 18c and other metals if you are getting a reaction like a rash its possible you a allergic to the ring best metal to use is 24c Gold or platinum.
Hope this helped :)

Only if ur allergic 2 what they're made of, my sister cant wear silver cuz she comes out in a rash so she has 2 wear gold. it can also make u sweaty under a ring and make skin conditions (such as eczema) worst through the sweating and heat.

yes, they prevent tanning, and if you are irritated by the metal, it can be scared, filled with bus/blood and all sorts of disgusting things...
