I've noticed a lot of people saying they hate religion, they are against christians, are tired of all the religious crap, but they are IN the Religious section. The way I was raised, when someone protests that much, it means down deep they are really interested and are affraid to admit it or something close to that. What do you think?

for judy r8 : what I really mean are the ones on here griping about religion, not expressing their beliefs. There are other Religons, every one has their right to what they believe. But, if they don't believe or they are bashing religion WHY are they on this sight, you misunderstood.

Yeah. I used to "hate" religion. I admit I still disagree with conventional religion and I easily get frusterated with people who either follow their religion to a maladaptive point or act completely opposite to the religion they claim. Or push their religion or it's views on morality onto individuals or the general public (as exeplified by groups such as the Christian Coalation).
Ok, I could go on listing reasons they frusterate me. But I realized once that I, in fact, am every bit as religious in my anti-religioseness as the religious zealots I argue with.
But to prove I'm not a complete jerk, when I do argue (and that's the reason I'm here), I do so intelligently and only give arguments that are meant to make the other side think about their answer rather that resorting to the all too familiar and all too indecisive "because God said so".

I'm one of them.

I too started going to Church and have come to believe that God does exist and is above everything. I don't have anything against Christianity though am against people who use religion as in using it for their ulterior motives.

When I saw the kind of hypocrisy being practiced in Churches then I too got repulsed and have stopped going to Church.

I know that being a Christian I need to forgive people though I also know my weaknesses too and that's what makes me a not so good Christian.

I have just come to a stage in life where I simply stay away from what makes me mad. I too believe that if it's Gods will then I too will go back to Church again.

you are correct... you can only hate that much if you know something to be true and can't accept it.

the problem is the way they see religion as a controlling and frightening thing.... BUT religion is only a tool a method a practise.

I'm an engineer there are many ways to design, build something but all obtain the same result. Just the same is a religion, it is used to achieve the same result within a person's soul.

Christians have a nerve using my name. I used to be a Jew but now I am a pagan.
Me and all the other demigods have great fun here, religion is a great joke made by the gods on the pathetic faithful.
We call them hatched again chickens.
Religion is just a form of vicious black hunour

They might have several reasons
1. To bash who believes religion
2. To spread their own belief
3. To learn whether there is actually some thing they have missed
4. Are there any alternatives.
5. Clarify stuff they want to on some beliefs after all, not believing doesn't mean that you can not keep learning.

edna bambrick is funny. people dont like to have someone elses values shoved down their throat. they dont hate religion, they resent the so called christians trying to make them feel guilty for not believing exactly the way they do. whos to say whos a christian? its the judgemental attitudes that turn people off. you can sit and read the bible and quote it all you want, but your still no better than the gutter drunk that will work for food. maybe someday we will all come to that realization and there will be no more turning away.

Religions become complicated because of the different interpretation everyone has about the bible. That is for christians, cause there are so many kinds of christians, and it is in the manner of understanding the teachings that they argue about. Everyone thinks differently, i think this is the better solution to answering your question.

People reject things that they can't understand. What they ought to be doing is asking why MAN has not found a cure for cancer, heart disease, AIDS and hasn't been able to stop natural disasters. Until man does, he's hopelessly overrated. If they gave it some thought, maybe these people would realize how secular humanism is idiocy and that they better start looking for answers in higher places.

I think that some people are just tired of everyone trying to push their religious beliefs and morals on them. I know I am.
