They must exist...not everyone was meant to be beautiful, not everyone was meant to be brilliant, not everyone was meant to be physically athletic, so it stands to reason that physically and mentally some people are simply not meant to be happy.

Why is that so hard to accept? I'm 19, and by this age the people who are simply never going to be gorgeous have accepted that, and the people who are simply never going to be brilliant have accepted that, and the people who will never be great athletes have accepted that,

but i haven't accepted anything yet.

lol i love how you can bring this topic up, and 95% of people will just say "its your fault for not being happy"

or

"just be happy"

and if i ever said to anyone "just be thin" or "just be good looking" i'd be called an asshole

Everyone deserves to be happy. There is a better way.

Just because one isn't physically gorgeous doesn't mean one should stop trying to be their best. Beauty comes in all ways and all stages of life. We all weren't born geniuses but it doesn't stop us from learning. The day we stop learning is the day we die.

My Great-Grandfather never won a race or was an athlete, but he walked every day 10 miles including the day he died. He taught me that we have to keep trying, keep walking. That's the way mankind survives.

I overcame depression and you can too. Not all of us respond the same way, there's no one way to find ,happiness - we just have to keep looking for happiness. There is a better way!

Hey.... f*ck that *meant to be*! You make it sound like there's a global (or divine) plan. There isn't. Sad but true.

We all have to get used to ourselves. I wouldn't call that *accepting*. It's more like finding ways to play the hand you got in the deal and make the best of it. If you look at the world, you'll see ugly, stupid and physically/mentally disabled people living as good lives as beautiful, brilliant and physically/mentally perfect people. Variety is the key to survival of a specie.

I'm not a *happy* person and I don't trust people who say they're *happy* all the time. If so, they're just plain ignorant and insensitive. You feel *happiness* when things are going your way , and we all know they don't always do that.

Hey Matt - I think you're a sensitive, thinking, creative and curious guy. In many ways, that's a curse but depending on how you handle yourself, it can be turned into a blessing. Creative people wouldn't be creative at all if they were *happy* all the time. If a *happy* person wrote a book that was all about being happy, I doubt anybody would want to buy it. What we're looking for in films, books, music, art etc (apart from knowledge and sheer entertainment) is to recognize ourselves in others and be touched/influenced/inspired /engaged und so weiter, and improve our own lives.

Some of the very best authors and songwriters the world has known have NOT been what you'd call *happy* people. Some of them have been severely depressed, hospitalized at times, had drug & alc problems etc. They've made a big difference anyway, AND they've had good and bad times, too.

Wish you good luck. After all, life's just a parenthesis between two eternities :)

there are not such people who never ment to be happy. yes indeed you cant be brilliant or beaytifull or ginious byt happyness is not made by your beayty or your brainnappyness is make by you. happyness is when you are exactly what you like to be in your life. when you have exactly what you wish to have. happyness is when your friend get to have something new when you wake up and thing what a beaytifyll day it is. happyness is not something that begins or ends. happyness is a moment just a second may it be. happyness is not something you shuld search. it comes to you in a simple smile. you are happy you are 19 and you are still live. you are happy you can even go to this side and write for it. you are happy you can be your self and not to have to explain to any one why are you like that. you may be the most papetic , the most stupid person in the world and still be happy. the rest of it is not important. it is important to be your self and live your life. even if you are ugly and sick and something. everyone deserve to live and everyone are feeling happynes in their life. so there is no such thing as not ment to be happy !!

It seems like you have already made your choice... you said you won't accept anything... at least not yet.

It is your own responsiblity to keep yourself happy. And if you must know, being beautiful or smart, or being born with or in any "fortunate" situation does not predispose you to happiness. Find your own happiness... do not base your happiness with the same standards that other people base their happiness in.

Just think things over.

If you're not happy... then it's your fault. At least partly.
