Pascal's Wager is a crap shoot argument for believing in the existence of God. It seriously boils down to selfishness, like, "Well jeez, it'll be better for me in the long run, statistically, to believe, so why the hell not."
Get real. Obviously the metaphysical is beyond scientific experiment, and therefore beyond being deductively proven. Christians and Athiests alike drive me nuts when they both fanatically maintain that it is or isnt possible.
It does come down to faith, hopefully tempered with some kind of rationalle. Balance of faith and reason, and all that. I'm not the person to ask, finding myself in neither camp. But that Pascal's wager argument, what an insult to the nature of belief, in any religion. The beauty is lost.
And, Tom, regardless of your belief or unbelief, I would hope that you would hesitate to completely disregard all religious writings as a load because you happen to disagree with certain, or even many, points. I'm not Buddhist but there is great wisdom in Confucious' Analects. etc etc etc, as with Buddah as with Mohammed as with Jesus. Spiritually derived wisdom and Reason (scientifically or otherwise) are not necessarily mutually exclusive. It's all about balance.
and cheers.

Whether or not God exists depends on what you mean by God. I'd argue at very least there are likely entities out there that mankind could see as god-like.
I think it's all relative - to a bunch of ants, God is a two-year old boy with a garden hose.

If God didn't exist, what would exist? For example buildings, homes, cars, airplanes, chairs....etc. don't just appear out of no where....someone had to make those things (humans). So it is the same with people, the Earth, Sun, moon,......the whole universe. God made those things.

yeah it's in my head. I know I'm gonna make people mad by saying thing. But I answer you anyway. First of all I think there is no "IF" to that question. My life really sucks and I know I am going to hell. But then again is there only a hell if there is heaven and god. Hmmm..... I don't know now. I'm confused. But anyway I don't really feel like there is a god and i live my life like other people. Only no church or prayers or bibles. Please don't hate me people. you all have no idea what I've been through

Fall through this big, luscious, beautiful, blue Earth that must have "magically formed", and play with the leprechauns that are in your head. Now, how sad is that?
(That's funny, I saw on your favorite site: god is imaginary.com, that "Leprecauns" are listed as a topic to prove that "God", is the imaginary one?) Too Funny. More Monkeyshines.

well then I die and wither away. But if he does exist, I am scared that I can not commit to belive in Him. I can't help but to think though, as the bible states, all it takes is for me to believe in Jesus. So if it is that easy, why not take that path, and if it is right I will spend eternity in heaven, if I am wrong, I will have lost nothing, and you will be right and I will be dead, and you wouldn't even be able to tell me.

What would I do? Look at A LOT of people and say, "I told ya so!" and go on living life as usual. (God's not my crutch, doesn't exist in my world of thought)

If God does not exist and I act as though He does, then I have lost nothing. If God does exist and I act as though He does not, then I have lost everything. Pascals wager and you just lost. Big Time.

well...if God doesn't exist..and we have no soul that would be seeking him out after we die...then i guess it just wouldn't matter would it?
Another question is...what would happen if God didn't believe that you exist?
