I dont know but what is soo very very fascinating is that we are getting very close to the point of having technology by which all we have to wave our hand or walking through a scanner to pay for goods at stores. Even soda machines are now accepting credit cards and soon we will be completely cashless. Some think the mark could simply be the your fingerprint and the ID number you have stored in your head that allows you to buy and sell as long as you have aggreed to give allegiance to the antiChrist and the world government

It is the antichrist. No one knows yet who that will be. He will become well-known after the rapture of the church. After the rapture, people will find their way to God and become believers. Only these new believers will know that he's the antichrist. Others will be deceived and think he is a brilliant, intelligent revolutionary. It will ultimately lead to their destruction. But if they follow God, they will have eternal life in paradise!
However, for those that end up left behind, the antichrist will have a mark. It will be required in order to buy or sell ANYTHING. Once a person receives this mark, your soul is fully lost. There will be no redemption for those that receive it. Churches will find a way to provide food, shelter, clothing, or any other necessity to Christians. Avoid this mark like the plaque!!

There are many of different interpretations that people come up with... some think it will be this new chip they're sticking in people that will have all your medical and credit info on it, as well as money. I think it is a spiritual mark, however. The charater of a true Christian is quite obvious... likewise, the character of a non-Christian is just as apparent. It may be that we cannot buy or sell without signing some sort of agreement or paperwork before having a "license" or something of the sort, that would contradict the beliefs of a Christian.
This is, however, just the speculations of someone who seeks every day to find answers to the mysteries of the Bible, ie. myself.

Yes, the mark of the beast referred to Nero who was emperor at the time of Rome. It was not difficult for the readers of Revelation to figure out the code in the century it was written but in centuries past it became a number of superstition.

There is a lot of hocus pokus and misinformation about the representation of the mark of the beast. Truth is....
The number 6 in the bible represents imperfection. 666 represents total imperfection.
mankind is in an imperfect state and is alienated from God (Just look at the world we mankind has put itself in).
Those who oppose God are earmarked with permanent imperfection who have no hope of gaining salvation to perfection.
They belong to the adamic family that will be destroyed rather than the family of Christ who will have eternal life.

first, be aware that there may have been a mistranslation of the number. it maybe 616, not 666.
this has been popping up a lot lately in yahoo answers. maybe do a search and find it again?
