we've been holding down a long distance relationship for over two years now, and promised each other that if the oppurtunity of getting to be closer to one another ever presented itself, that we'd take it

No way, young lady! You're stupid simply because you're stupid!!

Kidding. You're not stupid, but you could be making a mistake if you didn't give it at least a try. If you're both agreeable, why not?! Always give love a chance--it doesn't come along too often in life!!

From your perspective, it may seem that the love you have for your guy is life-long. The effects of your education certainly will be life-long.

These are the things that you need to weigh up, as objectively as possible. Unfortunately, the fact that your are in love means that your objectivity is right out of the window. Given that you are making a life decision here, you should probably try and bear that in mind.

When you go to college, wherever that turns out to be, you are going to meet new people, make new friends, and your mind will open up to whole new horizons, viewpoints and perspectives.

If you weren't in love with your boyfriend, the decision would be easy: choose the best college for your educational needs, wherever that is.

If the college in El Paso meets your educational needs as well as any other, then you can't go wrong by going there.

If you go to college somewhere else, even though you have demonstrated over the past two years that you can hold down a long-distance relationship, you are probably not going to be as happy as you would be if you'd gone to be near the guy, in El Paso.

Assuming that El Paso is not your best choice educationally, if you go to there, and the relationship fails (and statistics would suggest that that is a distinct possibility), then your prime reason for being there is not only gone, but he is also hanging around nearby. That will make the breakup all the harder and, of course, you won't be getting the education you would have if you'd gone to your educational first choice.

Probably the most important thing, though, is that you make your own mind up, take ownership of your choice, and make the very best of the cards that are dealt you subsequently. You'll kick yourself afterwards, otherwise!

Good luck!

well you have to consider other factors as well. Regardless of where your boyfriend is, don't you think you should consider going to the best school for your field of study? If you really feel you can get the best education there, then I go to him. If not. well you should think about your future as well as this guy

it depends entirely on how well that guy treats you...would he move to tx to be closer to you?...or did he move to tx to further his education...(away from you?)...i think in this instance it is best to answer your question with many questions...hopefully you have thought about all of the pros and cons...that's all i got...good luck to you my friend
