i also agree with the other woman Penn Foster has helped so many people. My best friend used it also and she loved it and i am also going to use it starting this august but you really don't even have to take the full 3 years to do it my best friend did it in 6 months and graduated at the age of 15 but of course you have a family so it may b harder but you can also transfer the classes that you did take when you were in high school as long as you passed the class you don't have to take it over again!! you need a total of 21.5 credits to graduate and i only have to take 9 in order for me to graduate and it should only take me a month and a half but if you have a family you really could just do a lesson a week if you wanted because you will be working at your own pace! don't settle for a GED you can get your diploma at a cheap price! and even if you for some reason in the near future decided to go to college you could get way further with a diploma than you could with a GED! Penn Foster is accredited so go for it!!!

My two youngest daughters got theirs through Penn Foster High School, online. The cost is about $1000 for 3 years worth of classes, books, etc., but worth it for the diploma instead of a GED. Payments are around $35 a month, not bad really, and this includes the high school ring which my youngest is receiving this year. She's got 8 months of study left...she's 17, so she'll be "graduating" early.

But the BEST part, is it's ONE class at a time! Not 6 or 7 and having to juggle them, but one, and you study at your own pace. This worked perfectly for her...because she can concentrate on one, and truly learn it, and move on to the next when she's ready. She's hypoglycemic, and due to incidences at school with passing out (from lack of food-they didn't allow snacks!!), I pulled her and went with this program. I've never regretted it!

The link below takes you to their site, look around and decide what's best (in the end) ....for you! Good luck!
