Public school.

Here is why:

I went to public school all my life, then I went to a Christian college for my freshman year and then went back to public school. Therefor, I have the experience of both worlds. Also remember, your kid have to face the real world eventually, and the real world is secular or have its own diversity (in faith/religion, in ethnicity, in race, in culture, in professions, in political view point, etc.).

I would think public school would be a much better place to train and get different perspectives and think in terms of Christian and non Christian world view.

Christian school might bring more disappointment to the kid once the kid found out that the professors and students are tend to be bias not live their lives according to what they preached.

Besides that, Christians should not stay in a comfort zone. You have the Christian environment (comfort zone, area of same or similar view point) in church or at home already, why should school (the place where you get educate and meet other people) be another comfort zone? Christian should go out and meet other people, get to know what other people think and see from other people's perspective. That help Christians to become a better and more well rounded person to evangelism and mission too. Go out there and spread the Words of the Gospel without being bias.

In terms of kid becoming rebellious in teenage age, if you send you kid to Christian school and always impose a Christian perspective to the kid (whether at home, in school, or at church), the kid will start looking, curiously examines at the secular world or the world of different faith once the kid becomes a teenager. On the other hand, it might be vice versa. This is not always, but it happens to a lot of people.

I don't have kids, but I did grow up Christian in a series of public schools. My opinion is this.... YOU give your children the nurturing welcoming environment at home. Teach your children about God. Live out the tenets of Christianity in front of them. Pick a school that is all about academic excellence. That way, your child gets a brilliant secular education and also gets the benefit of your Christian influence. Education will definitely come in handy when your child has to defend his faith on a daily basis. Just make sure that he/she knows all she needs to know to go forward. They will learn about the cruel world soon enough.

Coming from a Christian background and attending a public school, I would say...I'd send them to a public school, because where I come from, the kids at public school are able to mold their belief into something solid, due to the criticism of it. And if they lose their religion due to questioning, then they were never strong in it and sending them to a Christian school wouldn't make any difference.

Also, around where I live, the Christian kids at public school are more respected, whereas the Christian kids from Christian private schools are ridiculed and belittled for being so sheltered from the world. And being thus sheltered, they aren't able to deal properly under the pressure, and they crumple.

The Christian schools are very open minded and teach kids a lot about the Non-Christians attitudes towards our religion, Plus there's a considerable amount of Non-Christians students in many Christian schools!

Neither I have chosen to Home School my sons. For many reasons. I am a Catholic. The physical, spiritual dangers made my decision along with the lack of a decent education in public school. Let's face it Out Come Based Education is not working.Public school wasn't good or safe when I was a child why would I think it had gotten better when society sure hasn't?

My kids go to a Christian School to have a good environment while they are young. But when the proper age comes (when they learn to distinguish what is right and wrong) then I will consider the public school.

I think Diamod Doll is wrong about her opinion. We should put God in every aspects of our lives. That is why the morality in this country is decaying because of people like her.

We are the light of the world. We shouldn't hide that light under a basket. Matthew 5:11-16

Christian schools are fine but you can't shield the kids from those that would ridicule and hate forever.

Mine go to public schools, (hopefully witnessing via word and deed in the process), and get the truth at home.

I would send my kids to a christian school, cause I myself studied in a christian school. I have been normal all my life and learned quickly about the world too. But I learned that to be "God centered" will keep me out of trouble for the rest of my life. this thing i wouldn't have known if i was not taught about it in a christian school. now my life is peaceful and way out of trouble, and i just want my children to experience the same! Christianity is not just learning about God, it is also learning and practising to be humane!

Well, neither. My husband is military, so my children will go to a school on-base. It's more of a regular, public school (although quite small). But on-base, they won't have to deal with all the violence that regular schools have. Plus, there are many, many Christians in the military, so faith would be apparent at any on-base school.
