In response to my terrorist question, I ask if they are brainwashed

Brainwash :" Intensive, forcible indoctrination, usually political or religious, aimed at destroying a person's basic convictions and attitudes and replacing them with an alternative set of fixed beliefs."

Now show me proof that Christians and other religious group members are NOT brainwashed. Remember, part of brainwashing is convincing the victim that they are not brainwashed.

Notice most children from non-Christian households never become Christian, but most children from Christian households do become Christian. The same goes for Islam and other religions. They literally terrorize children by stories of Hell in order to force them to believe what they want them to believe, and failure to do so often turns into making the child feel guilty, ashamed or unloved.

Yes...
1 CORINTHIANS 6:11
And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

II PETER 3:1
This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:

PHILIPPIANS 2:5
Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

1 CORINTHIANS 2:16
For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ.

Omm your arguments are so terrible they are bad.

First of all, why is it that atheist believe that unless you think like them, you are brainwashed. Yet they claim to be all in favor of free thinking.

The key word in the brainwash definition that ruins your whole argument is the word "forcible". Christianity is about choice. In fact, most people would get great benefits from the world as far as popularity and advancements if they leave Christianity behind.

"Remember, part of brainwashing is convincing the victim that they are not brainwashed."

So according to this logic, anyone who believes they are not brainwashed really is brainwashed. So the only way one can not be brainwashed is if they believe they are brainwashed? Come again?

"Notice most children from non-Christian households never become Christian, but most children from Christian households do become Christian."

Yes that is so strange. Ive also noticed that children that come from houses that speak English also speak English, and people whose family celebrate Forth of July also grow up celebrating Forth of July. Hmmm we better get an investigational team on this phenomenom immediately

well actually, children from non-Christian homes do become Christians. ever heard of a born-again christian? they tend to be the most annoying and the most pushy with their beliefs I've noticed.

I think everyone is brainwashed. Hardly anyone actually thinks, they only think they think, or would rather die than think. Christians and other religions are by far the most brainwashed though, but they have the right to believe whatever they want. I have no problem if they want to believe in God or Santa, as long as I have the freedom not to believe.

First, lets see your definition:
forcible= no Christianity is not using force on people, we share but it's still up to the person to accept or believe Jesus.
destroying=no Christianity doesn't destroy your way of thinking, it actually makes you think even more than what you have.
replacing= it's really up to the person if he wants to change his way to a better way from his former way so still no.
non-Christian household never become Christian, is actually not all true in general. we have heard of many testimonies about nonbelievers committing their lives to Christ.
Terrorizing children of hell=actually a good teacher of Christianity doesn't torture kids of stories about hell but teach the goodness of God and His love towards his children. I have never come across a Christian Children's Book that speak about children going to hell if they won't accept Jesus.
Child feeling guilty or unloved=not at all true. Have you ever heard the song "Jesus loves the little children"? And besides, you better be in one of the Sunday School to experience one. I attended Sunday School when I was a kid and our teacher never scared us or make us feel ashamed or unlove. It was actually fun those days, we were part of something fruitful. We we're actually freed from guilt and shame when we come to understand God and accept Jesus.
But actually, I for one will admit we are brainwashed. What do you do to something dirty? You washed them to make it clean right? So that's what the blood of Jesus has done for us, cleansed us from the filth of this world.

Hey! At least we Christians don't go blowing ourselves up to kill as many people as possible! Only EXTREMISTS are brainwashed...whether it's a TERRORIST group or one of those CULTS!!!!!
I put the words in bold letter so you would know the difference! You're obviously an atheist. It's just funny how some atheists think they have the answer or the excuse not to follow any religion...you atheists even consider "atheism" as a religion! Atheists that I know of are mainly pessimistic and negative people...at least we Christians talk about love and sharing!

Show you proof that they AREN'T?? You can't proove a negative. e.g. you can't proove that someone DOESN'T own a house...you can only proove that he does.

And this kind of logic will result in a loop. If I were to say that I know I'm not brainwashed because I have looked into other religions and chosen to stay with mine (which I have, by the way), then you would ask "How do you know you're not brainwashed into staying?"

I'm the proof.

Show me proof that they are terrorizing children by stories of hell. Or are you just repeating what you heard? Maybe you're brainwashed. :)

I am an atheist and can see the flaws in your thinking. You say notice most children from non-Christian households never become Christian, but most children from Christian households do become Christian. So are you saying then the ones from non Christian households are brainwashed also since they usually don't convert either?

While you mentioned intensive and forcible indoctrination in the definition, you failed to demonstrate how that is the rule of Christian proselytization. I'm not saying that it doesn't happen, but that is the exception and not the rule. You are saying it's the rule.

With most, it's about as intensive and forcible as your standard school. Are you willing to submit that schools (including evolution classes) are brainwashing children, not teaching them?

i do no longer think of this is unavoidably "brainwashing." father and mom coach their babies the religion they have been taught, yet all of us make the alternative as to which faith or lack thereof, we sense maximum comfortable with. If it does not sense suitable, then we hit upon different techniques. anybody is given this risk, however the only reason many people choose for to easily have self assurance in what their families have self assurance is in basic terms by the fact they're the two lazy or petrified of the implications. people want some thing to have self assurance in, for the main area, and believing what all people else believes seems to be the least problematical selection. as nicely, there are a variety of of of those that declare "christianity" yet do no longer shop on with the religion very heavily that this is an quite unfastened faith in as we talk's society. As for the insanely non secular bible-thumpers, nicely, they're vulnerable minded and afraid to be themselves. perchance they're brainwashed, yet purely with the aid of their own fears and inhibitions.

No, some sure, but again not ALL.

I am a child of a non-Christian household, my parents never spoke of God or religion. I am a Christian, I sought out my beliefs, and my faith, through lots of time and education. I am NOT brainwashed, never been force fed anything, that I still adhere to.

You have valid arguments, but stop generaliing. Not ALL Christians are one way or another. Diversity you know?
