It is very interesting movie. However it is fictional. I can prove this easily.

The picture of the last supper does not have a cup accoarding to the movie, however if you actually look at the real picture (not in the movie) there are many cups.

That is just one example.

The Da Vinci Code obviously is just a story. BUT: the facts are:
1. There are no records that support the Gospel stories in the "New Testament".

2. The Church (by name of a Pope, look it up!) has admitted that "This fable of Jesus Christ has been very profitable to us."

3. Constantine I forced his bishops at the Council of Nicaea (the year 325) to adopt the new "christian" story as the only lawful religion and then for 1 700 years christianity had been enforced with the most awful terrorism this world has endured, as it was the only way of getting it into the world. If you did not believe the story you were burnt or buried alive and pregnant women had their unborn babies removed and burned before their eyes, even as they themselves died and their families looked on.

3. There were two brothers that were the inspiration for the "Jesus" fable, and Constantine's pagan armies fought one another because of the different beliefs in which one was the real rabbi, so he decided to take a mean average and bring cultural unity in his world domain. Religious unity is the basis for cultural unity.

3. The gospels were either fabricated or plagiarised. The Gospel of St John (that means so much to me) was in fact plagiarised, it was already written long before the time of "Jesus" , and was also found in the Dead Sea Scrolls.

4. The revelation of John was plagiarised from an ancient Hindi Script 2000 years older than the Gospels.

5. Virgin Birth is an old pagan commonality - there are at least 7 documented stories of virgin births that almost identically match the false virgin birth story and life story of the fictitious Jesus Christ.

The "New Testament" simply is a fable and has been the cause of endless agony this world has seen and still sees.

6. There was no "cucification", it is a blatant lie. The cross is an old pagan symbol. Stoning was the way of execution, or hanging onto a "tree", a single pole. The "cross" was only brought into the story about 500 years later!

Its fiction. Simple as that.

The Da Vinci Code is a fictitious mystery/detective novel by American author Dan Brown, published in 2003 by Doubleday.

The novel is based on the controversial premise that there is a conspiracy within the Catholic Church to cover up the true story of Jesus. According to this premise, the Vatican knows it is living a lie but continues to do so to keep itself in power.

The novel has helped generate popular interest in speculation concerning the Holy Grail legend and the role of Mary Magdalene in the history of Christianity. Fans have lauded the book as creative, action-packed and thought-provoking. Critics have attacked it as poorly written, inaccurate and creating confusion between speculation and fact. From a religious point of view, some critics consider it sacrilegious, and decry the many negative implications about the Catholic Church and Opus Dei.

Dan Brown's novel was a smash hit in 2003, even rivaling the sales of the highly popular Harry Potter series [1]. It spawned a number of offspring books and drew glowing reviews from the New York Times, People Magazine and the Washington Post [2]. It also re-ignited interest in the history of the Catholic Church. As well as re-invigorating interest in the church, The Da Vinci Code has also spawned numerous "knockoffs" (as they are referred to by Publishers Weekly) [3], or novels that have a striking resemblance to The Da Vinci Code, including Raymond Khoury's The Last Templar, and The Templar Legacy by Steve Berry.

It is a worldwide bestseller with more than 60.5 million copies in print (as of May 2006) and has been translated into 44 languages. It is thought to be the eighth best-selling book of all time. Combining the detective, thriller and conspiracy fiction genres, the book is part two of a trilogy that started with Brown's 2000 novel Angels and Demons, which introduced the character Robert Langdon. In November 2004, Random House published a "Special Illustrated Edition", with 160 illustrations interspersed with the text.

In 2006, a movie adaptation was released by Columbia Pictures.

Jesus being Married to MM is right according to what I know - and this I got to know way before Da Vinci Code - but the blood line end up story in DC is not quite right. In fact Jesus and Mary had 3 children including Sara - the first born daughter and 2 sons if my memory is right.

It's a fictional book. End of story.

What I find most interesting about it is the controversy it's caused. People just refuse to believe that the Bible is open to interpretation. Maybe they called Mary Magdalene "The Holy Grail" to protect his privacy. You never know. Wasn't Jesus Jewish? Weren't Jewish men at that time obligated to get married? Something to think about.

I don't think it's blasphemy because even if Jesus had a wife and family, since when is that a sin?

It was so stupid and it has no facts in it even the last supper table painting was bogus. I know its a famous painting and all but frankly i went to Israel and just for the record the last supper was in a U shaped short with no chairs table (you had to sit on the floor cuz it was short) and Jesus sat on the inside of the U while the apostles sat outside the U. Besides it was way to ridiculous to be real it was too screwed up. But the movies was actually kinda good there were some nice action scenes.

One of Yeshua Messiah's teachings was the parable of the wedding.
what wedding?
In Isaiah 3, God divorced Israel.
The Master sent the Word out to everyone - no matter where they were from or what they had believed - that they could all be part of this new, upcoming wedding to Yehsua Messiah and to YHVH who sent Him and created us.
The invitation of the Bible is getting married to God.
That was the Master's mission - which is why despite all the intrigue, Jesus did not marry Mary Magdelene in the physical sense.
She was a disciple - quite possibly a special apostle - but the Master married all those who are with Him.
Yeshua Messiah, Jesus, has invited all of us spiritually to a wedding with Him and YHVH because that's what this journey is all about.
PS there is absolutely no historical evidence backing davinci code up. The source of Dan Brown's book were two previous books whose authors admitted in their own books they had no historical proof. when davinci code came out - the media dug hard and tried to prove any little piece of this because they really could have played it - but found gobs of nothing. the institutions accused also opened up freely - and the cupboards were bare.
in the end, dan brown's story is geraldo rivera in al capone's vault.
empty

Undocumented, all the "points" that are made in the Dan Brown writing are easily proven false with an ordinary Bible. The apostle Paul while inspired by the Holy Spirit wrote that "it is better not to marry." If that is the truth, then why would Jesus choose something that is "not better". Jesus is perfect, he would not lower himself to second best with the action of marraige.

The idea that the bloodline of Jesus will result in his second coming is also foolish. The Bible is very clear that Jesus will personally come to earth and bring those who have fallen asleep in Him with Him. There is no need for a bloodline, Jesus is eternal.

The idea that Mary's annointing Jesus was a marraige ritual is easily debunked by John 12:7

"Leave her alone," Jesus replied. " It was intended that she should save this perfume for the day of my burial.

Not a wedding, a funeral.

Now if one doesn't believe in Jesus' divine nature, then that is their choice. But one cannot take unfounded speculation and base their opinion solely on that.
