My mom was a firm believer of eating a little bit of everything that is put on the table. Even if the kid doesn't like it. I still will not eat it. 10 points if your food is the same as mine.

For me, it was the infamous Soft Boiled Egg Incident.

I was 5, and, just looking at the soft-boiled egg my mother had cut up for me, I *knew* there was that weird string in it. I couldn't see it, but I knew it was there.

Some remarks passed between my parents and I, in which I assured them I would vomit if forced to eat the egg. Being five, I lost, and was required to eat.

Two bites into it, I found the string; I could feel the slimy thing trying to get stuck in my throat. I spewed over the entire breakfast table. Having eaten egg and had orange juice, it was colorful.

I was never required to eat a soft-boiled egg again, and I have never made anyone at my table eat anything they honestly don't like...so long as they HAVE tried it once before!

...God, I hate soft-boiled eggs.

Asparagus. Ugh. I once sat at the table for 4 hours, just staring at it, before my mom finally gave in and let me leave the table without eating it.

I wasn't too picky, but I hated jalapenos! And I'm even from New Mexico. Ugh, I had to eat them all the time. And it wasn't even the heat that made them disgusting, it was the flavor. Ugh, it's almost sour....and they were always mixed into foods. I'd always try to pick them out and give them to my sister!

My parents raised picky eaters, what can I say? They didn't force me or my brother to eat anything we didn't like. They still don't. I'll eat any plant-based foods though. I will never eat any animal-based foods again, however.

Corned beef hash. I would just let it pile up in my cheeks until my parents left the room and then spit it out. The other thing is mashed potatoes with bacon bits... I couldn't handle the different textures. YUCCH!!

Fish. My dad forced me to eat it even when I gagged, and he did it every time he caught fish, knowing I hated eating it. I still can't eat it to this day. Tuna, Salmon and any kind of white fish or trout. Uugh!

veal cutlet. I once had to sit at the table until I ate it all - it took me three hours. I cut it up into tiny pieces and swallowed it whole like pills. YUCK
