Nope. Had mine out last November. I'm still here to talk to you about it.

There are dietary restrictions, though. You have to watch your fat intake, though it is ok to splurge once in a while (but you will end up poopin' pure liquid and have abdominal pain). No clams, ever. And you're supposed to limit your shellfish.

If you have the gallbladder taken out because of stones (which I did - unfortunately, I had a stone blocking my biliary duct which caused me to have severe pancreatitis), even after you have your cholecystectomy (gallbladder removal surgery), you can still get gallstones. Go figure.

No. Part of the bile duct dilates to store bile, like the gall bladder. About a month after surgery, you can eat everything without any problem. I had mine out 4 years ago.

No. Although it is the liver that produce bile, the Gallbladder stores bile. Bile is necessary for emulsifying fats in the intestinal lumen. So, you might notice difficulties with some food after having your gallbladder removed but it is definitely not life threatening.

No, but it makes life really hard. You would need to take supplements to make up for the bile that your galbladder won't be producing anymore.
