I've just turned 16 and my parents are finally letting me out on my first date with a boy. He's taking me for dinner and a movie, tho my parents say we have to be back home by 10.

I am a total bag of nerves. I've known this boy for like 2 years in school, but we've never dated, just sort of talked in school for a few minites here and there. He's pretty cute tho. We've chatted a bit on IM too, but it's not the same is it.

So, what's a first date like? What should I talk about, or shouldn't I talk that much? Um, in the movies, should I put my hand on his leg maybe or hold his arm, or just not touch him at all and what about kissing? I don't want to come across easy if you know what I mean.

I realize now how little I know about dating and stuff.

Please help with any ideas.

Keep your hand off his leg. Don't touch him at all unless he initiates it. You can hold his hand or let him put his arm around your shoulder. Give him a hug at the end of the date. I wouldn't kiss him unless you liked him and wanted to show affection, but that's it. No prolonged kissing.
Don't worry about talking. Just talk about what you did when you knew him in school. Let the conversation flow, But ask him what are his plans for the future. Find a guy with ambition. If he doesn't plan on going to college, dump him. Ask him what his parents are like. If he bad mouths his parents, he's a loser. The first date is tough for everyone. We all went through it and it's miserable, but it's even tougher for the guy who had to ask you out. Get Dr. Phil's book on dating for more advice.

Hello. Just be yourself. Talk about whatever you usually talk about. If you really really need to, then hold his leg in the movies if that's a natural reaction to whatever you watched. First dates are just like meetings with a friend except that "friend" would be replaced by a person that you like. I have no idea what I'm saying. Hahaha. I hope that helps.

Basically if you want to know how to act. Watch
some old 1950s movies. ^_^

These women are the epitome of Ladylike.

Best thing to do is not to touch him in any sexual way
and let him know by body language that you are not
going to sleep with him, let him know you want
to date but not have sex.

Go Arm in arm, that is fine. Also dont let him touch
you anywhere inappropriate. Yes talk, but let
him lead the conversation. Guys like to talk about
themselves : )

If he is shy ask him questions about himself.Again
guys like to talk about themselves. Unless he is
peculiarly interested in you.

I admire your parents for having you wait till you were
older to date!! Kudos to them! And Kudos to you!!
Just dont mess it up by having sex before your married
and HAVE FUN!!

Dress classy! guys like it!

firstly take a deep breathe! you should let him lead the date. talk about yourself, what you like and then ask him. in the movies if you really like him, lean in towards him, thats all. once your on the date everything will fall into place and things will just roll along. goodluck!
