you sound like me..it's so ironic. here's what i think. the guys might think they aren't good enough for you.....the consider you their "best friend", they are intimidated by your good qualities...or they are stupid

Guess what? Guys hate risking rejection just like you do.
Some people get over it and make the first move, because they've grown up enough and realized it's not a big deal. Some people are jerks who don't care what you think of them; they're just trying to get some. And still others will approach you because they perceive you as below their standards, and they believe you'd be an idiot to reject them.
Best thing to do is to get a bit more aggressive and ask the guy out. This is the 21st century, and girls need to figure out the old rules don't have to apply anymore.
