Cats are notorious for not drinking enough fluid, and your cat seems to be doing the same thing. This can be dangerous especially in extremely hot and dry climates.
Encourage your cat to drink by bringing it to its water dish every 2-3 hours. Make sure the water's fresh by changing it everyday. Some cats do like a tiny bit of ice in their water, so if your cat is the same, you might consider trying this method out. Also, make sure your cat has a sheltered place to rest on, as cats generally love to lie around in a sunny spot, and fall asleep. In extreme hot weather, this is a good way to get dehydrated without them realising it.
If your cat has been drinking its normal amounts, don't worry about it. It knows how much it's getting. If it's drinking lesser than usual, or not at all, it's a sign that it's unwell. In which case, a trip to the vet's is definitely advisable.
Good luck.

Cats will only drink water as they need it. No matter how hot it is. Just make sure your cat is not dehydrated, check for loose skin and weight loss. In either case take your cat to a vet or at least talk to the vet about this problem. Keep fresh food and water down 24/7

No it's not OK, they get easily dehydrated. You need to sprinkle a few, not many, dry biscuit based snacks on top of their wet food and put a large bowl of fresh water by their food bowl every time you put down new food. Also change the water every two hours at least. Many times cats don't drink the water people put out because it isn't fresh enough.

Your cat will make sure it drinks enough water. It will drink when it needs it. You cannot force a cat to drink if it doesn't want to, trust me! If other things are happening (rapid weight loss or glassy looking eyes for example) then you need to take it to the vet. Make sure you keep water available for it all day.

Your cat may also get water from various sources outside (if you have access to outdoors). I wouldn't be concerned.

Most cats don't drink alot of water. They get water from canned food. if your cat is outdoors, try to keep them inside in the hotter part of the day, let them roam at night when it is cooler, if they are indoor cats in the AC with you, that will help. If you are really concerned check with your vet, the internet can also provide helpful info including signs of dehydration to look for. Good Luck.

As long as your cat is still making regular trips to the litter box, you shouldn't be too concerned. Many cats are fussy about water, and won't drink if it smells like chlorine. I would try an inexpensive spring water, or one of the filtered constant flow water dishes. If your cat is crying while urinating or urinating outside of the box, it may be a sign of infection or urethra blockage.(very common in males do to a narrow urethra) If your cat has either of these symptoms, bring him to a vet immediately. If you have noticed what appears to be crystals in your cats urine, it's likely is urinary pH is to high. A change to a food like Purina One pH Formula with lower the pH (more acidic) and dissolve the crystals so they will pass without blockage.

How do you know what is enough? If she eats canned food, this has a lot of water in it. A cat will drink what it needs to keep it hydrated. Unless the cat is sick, it knows what it needs.
