beating our autistic son with a rubber hose and calling him a retard for showing his penis at the dinner table. I want to side with my retarded son on this one because although i am not autistic, large penises run in the family and i used to do the same thing even at school. I feel my wife is resentful of me and our son finding out that autism runs in my family as everyone but 2 people on my side are handicapped. what can i do to fix the situation?

First of all, it is never OK to hit a child, especially if they are developmentally challenged. Secondly, obviously your wife feels a lot of pressure so it is in hers and your son's best interests if she takes a break. Get a nurse or carer for one or two hours a week and treat your wife to a relaxing activity.
If this keeps happening, the police may see fit to lay charges against your wife and your son will be taken away from her. This is your time to step in and take charge before the situation gets even more out of hand.

If this is a joke good joke, hahaha. If not, I'm sorry. If she can't handle it the best thing is to divorce her and take your son with you. next time you might want to let on that it runs on your side otherwise you won't have a very happy relationship. There is no fixing resentment unless your wife can get over it and live with it happily as he is you and your wife's son. Nothing will change that and if you want to try to fix things you want to remind her of that. good luck on it all.

Well in my opinion? Take your son and leave her. There is no good reason to beat a child with a rubber hose. He had no idea he was doing anything wrong. And whos to say this was the first or last time??

You don't mention how old you both are or how long you've been married or whether the boy is a result of this marriage or a previous one.
Either way, your wife needs to get some serious counseling to learn how to deal with your boy. If she doesn't, then one of these days she is going to really hurt him bad.
If she can't learn to deal with him properly then your best solution would be to leave her and take your son with you and either raise him by yourself or find someone that love the two of you the way you are and is willing to help you raise him properly.

No one, for any reason, deserves to be beaten with a rubber hose. However, something needs to be done, not just with the child, but with the entire family, such as family counseling. Autistic or not, he needs to try to understand that exposing himself is inn appropriate. And it sounds to me that you could use some help yourself if you think that it is normal to do so. I'm sorry to say it, but if your wife resents y'all for that-then I dont think you should be with her or have your son around her. Parents with autistic children have to be patient and understanding. Someone who resents your son is not going to help him at all. That can't be helped.

Call the cops send her to jail or therapy whatever but she assaulted the boy and needs help or to be punished maybe both .
