This is hard to say because we would first need to know what kind of contraception you are on. If you are taking the pill or using the depo-provera injection then these abnormalities are fine.
If you aren't on any of these then the only thing i could advise you to do is go and talk to your doctor. in most cases light (or,and) short bleeding is absolutely normal but you may need to have a smear test to be on the safe side, i put mine off for three years and the results weren't very good so it's better to be safe than sorry

I'm sure you have nothing to worry about - hormones mess periods up all the time.
It may be that you didn't ovulate (it's very common not to do that every month) in which case your period could easily be shorter and lighter than normal.
My suggestion would be to wait and see what happens next month (unless you have other worrying symptoms - in which case see a doctor now).
Starting the menopause at 28 would be very unusual, so it probably isn't that.
Above all - don't worry.

I really wouldnt worry at all, I get like that, I only have 3-4 days period max... Sometimes if I am really stressed out, I might not even have a period or just have a few spots every now and again. If you really concerned check it out with your doc, but it all varies with woman to woman.

Go to the doctor and have a check-up, even if only to relieve your mind, but variations in the time of you period and the length it lasts vary a lot. It has to do with anxiety and stress. It could be physical, but normally a C & D. clears the problem.

I'm 26 and my period has been changing too. I get more PMS symptoms and the flow and duration have changed. I don't think it's menopause, it's just our bodies aging a bit. When it's menopause, I think we'll know it.

it's normal to have different periods at any age. You can even skip a period and it doesn't mean anything. Stop worrying
