Because they didn't get enough attention from their mommies and now need to get it from everyone else...Oh yeah, and there INSANE!

You should be more specific. There is a difference between devil worship and Satanism.
Satanism first came about in the Rennaissance. It was originally a group called the Illuminati. Note that "Illuminati" is rooted from "Lucifer", a name which means "enlightenment".They were scientists and philosophers (Atheistic and Christian alike) who together developed beliefs based on natural observation and evidence. Gallileo, for example, was a member of the Illuminati. But the Catholic church didn't like the way these people thought. They declared the Illuminati heratics and devil worshipers. They started spreading propaganda about how said Satanists would steal unbaptized babies and virgins and sacrifice them in their Black Masses.
This was (at one time anyway) obsurdly false. Yet uneducated Atheistic individuals listened to this propaganda and thought that simply because the actions were anti-Christian they were cool. This is where what is referred to today as "devil worship" arose.
Today the modern incarnation of Satanism is a group founded by a man named Anton Szandor LaVey. The group is called quite plainly Satanism and is sometimes accompanied by some suffix or prefix attributing it to LaVey in order to negate confusion with devil worship. The religion (LaVey Satanism) is based on logic and is more or less a copncentrated form of Atheism with the addition of ritual. Let it be known that true Satanism (Illuminati, LaVey, or anything that came between the two) do NOT condone the practice of ritualistic slaughter of people or animals. In fact there is never a drop of blood spilt whether or not the doner dies.

No one who is seriously in to religion worships "The Devil"
Thats because the devil the idea of a Judeo-christian former angel descended from heaven to rule hell.
People who worship the devil know nothing about religion or spirituality and simply wish to shock. Those of you who worship Satan or Lucifer please read on rather than be offended. I will explain.
The Satanists are a humanist organisation, that doesn't worship the Judeo-christian Devil so much as they spark anger in others by claiming to do so.
The serious RELIGIONS(not high schoolers with free time) worship the dieties of the past that the Catholic church has "Demonized" in more recent days.
Most names for the Devil were stolen from other cultures dieties. And as such, the dieties are worshipped not "The Devil"
The majority of these dieties were not evil but were competing with the niche the Judeo christian God filled, as such were competition and to be eliminated.
Even the pentagram, a holy symbol of nature and life was corrupted into a symbol of the dark being.
Let me summarize by saying, DEVIL worshippers are stupid and ignorant. Those that worship the Demonized Gods are not evil. but are simply choosing a different God.

most people dont worship the devil. Satanists do NOT worship the devil. it is a religion of SELF WORSHIP. some people worship the devil to mock christianity, and others do it because its practical (an african religion believes in a god that is so all forgiving, that no matter what they do they will get into heaven. because of that they try to please the devil in life to get better things and then ask for forgiveness from god in death.)

God and Devil, both are the different sides of the same coin. As an individual one has the freedom to choose between the two.

Why does anyone worship anything? They believe in it and think it is right for them to do so. I could worship a bottle of Heinz ketchup if I wanted to and for me it would be right and good, but not so for everyone else. We all have a CHOICE in our religious beliefs, be they right or wrong in our eyes, they can worship who they feel is closer to their hearts.

Why would anyone want to worship the number 2 guy who got his A$$ handed to him, got kicked out of Heaven, and was sent to his room for all enternity as punishment?

Modern satanism has NOTHING to do with the Devil. It is all about living your urges. Your "Id" as Freud called it. Wanting something and taking it.
I see nothing wrong with living like that...
Just so long as you don't mind spending time in jail.

It is easier and they are able to be given evil powers from the devil--demons that they enjoy. But real power comes from God and they are setting themselves up for a rough death and afterlife.
