ah soapbox10 seems to have a rather secular view on love
lets talk about it the word that is, "love" a un-explainable feeling and attraction towards another person. while some cultures do not even have a word for this it is often used to explain a supernatural feeling.
now soul, this as well is to debate, some religions believe it to die, others not so much, atheist can believe in a soul and some dont have a belief it does not exist.
so a soulmate implies a supernatural feeing of two souls combined to one another.
how this implies no control over their lives ( responsiblity) is beyond me, perhaps soapbox10 needs a little sleep..... you must first find them before you can call them a soulmate, they dont magically appear.
No Proof either way( never will be either), Agnostic Evan.

Yes, but sometimes people change and you have to be glad and fortunate to have that soul mate for whatever period it lasts, b/c you did the right thing at the right time. Again things change and you and God only know how to handle the change and if your soul mate is worthy of your love. You can just feel it when you are patient and least expect it, but sometimes a sheep is in wolves clothing.

Yes, we found one another thirty-two years ago when I moved onto his street and was the new kid on the block. It was love at first sight, but given our young ages, we did not express it and were best of friends for a little over a year. When he did tell me how he really felt, it was pure ecstasy and relief to hear it and to be able to return it. We remained unflappably in love for six years and planned to marry. Then somehow we began to grow apart with normal yearnings toward individualism and split up. It was difficult due to the absence of any animosity, a third party, loss of love, etc. We went on separate paths for 10 years until running into one another on the same old street we'd grown up on while I was living again with my family recovering from a recent divorce. He had his own issues to iron out and was also staying with his family. It was love at first sight all over again, so we quickly changed our careers and bought a home and eloped before anything or anyone could get in the way again. We have no formula for how to find one's soul mate, only that we are blessed and never take it for granted that we were able to find one another again and to enjoy a good marriage and wonderful companionship.

w00t ! There's a question now! I have been with my wife for 22 years. but I do not want to ever say "Yess, this is my soulmate"
There is none so foolish as the one who thinks himself wise.
I would rather just feel her inside my entire spirit as she is everyday. I would rather just live without being able to imagine anyone else as my mate, as I do now.
It is far more important to take and live with these feelings than it ever would be to use my stupid mind and evaluate it all. A soulmate requires that you are linked beyond words. To speak such words is useless, and lessening to the feelings we share.
Do not ask the question with your words-FEEL the question within your soul. And if you can feel the question together everyday, then perhaps that IS your soulmate. But the first day either of you question that feeling, is the last day that feeling continues to live.
And so far, I thank God that I can still feel her everyday....

yep i found my soul mate 5 years ago and when you are in that kind of love you dont need proof. you also wont need to prove to anyone else for the simple fact that the person is now your entire life, so why look for proof

There is no such thing as soul mate. It's just a term that has gotten popular lately. People believe in soulmates because they don't want to take responsibility for their actions and want to believe in "fate".

Yes and no. I found my heavenly soul mate which serves as the founding point for my earthly soul mate. For that I am waiting for him to find me; I am preparing myself to meet him so that I will be ready when he reveals himself to me.
