Yes, because not only is it not true, but it frieghtens the poor child. My mother had a better approach to the vegetable problem. "Do you want to be like Spider-Man or Superman when you grow up? They ate vegetables to get to where they are. You can be big and strong and smart too if you do." That works like a charm, and by the time they find out the truth, it is too late, they love their vegetables.
