What should be the curtsies here?

YES!! I talk and text all the time!!! I live with my mom, but I used to go back and forth between my mom and dad, so I converted to using my cell exclusively.

Courtesy, well..... I still think that people should avoid using their cell phones in restaurants and other quiet places. I have picked up calls in restaurants before, but it's short and quiet, and I always ask the person I'm with if it's ok. Meetings, school, work, movies... if you have the cell phone at all, put it on vibrate!!!!! I hate it when people's phones ring in class or a movie... rude!

The only downside to cell phones is that now people automatically assume that you are available anytime. I get calls and texts at all hours. And one of my bosses always expected someone to call back right away if they didn't answer. People have stuff to do! I sometimes miss being unavailable... like back in the day, if I went to the store or something, people would just have to call me back later. I turn my phone off a lot to have that feeling. People's lives should not be controlled by their phone.

Anyway... now that I've written a novel... :)

while I own a cellphone, it in no way rules my life, or is more than a tool that I rarely use. I never have used more than 100 minutes in a month, and since I have the basic 500 minutes with unlimited nights/weekends I never pay more than the base rate(plus all those dang taxes) I take it with me when I go out because you never know when you are going to break down, I also take it with me when I am going geocaching, so if I need to hit the web to look up something, orcall a friend for whatever reason its there, but I definately charge it more in one week than I have ever talked on it in the same week.

I ain't a cell phone addicted. My brother sure is. He's always on his phone 24/7 and when he's not on the phone he's on the damn computer talkin' to friends.
As for me. I'm more into cb radios. Might not be able to talk to people far away but least its more reliable then a cell phone...

In a way. I love to send sms all the freakin time. BUT while I'm in a restaurant or movie, I shut it off as too not disturb other people.

Nup, no addiction there, I haven't even got one at the moment and I don't miss it at all. That really annoys other people, that they cannot contact me when ever they like.
