Oh my-lanta, people are so rude.

At first, tampons can seem scary and weird. With a little practice, you'll be so glad they were invented!

Okay, this is a little "descriptive", but it's good to be informed on things like this, especially the first time.

It's best to try tampons when your period is it's heaviest. Pick a tampon that you think you'll like (I always use Tampax, not pearl) and is the right absorbtive strength. You might consider trying a lighter strength tampon at first.

You can put in a tampon either while you're sitting on the toilet or with one leg up on the seat. First thing is to relax!! If you tighten your muscles it will make it really hard to put the tampon in properly. Relax your muscles by taking a deep breath.

Hold the tampon in a way that is comfortable to you. The box usually recommends resting the tampon on your middle finger, with the thumb supporting it, and your pointer finger on the end.

Relax your muscles, and slide it inside, gently. It may feel weird, but relax. Most girls don't insert the tampons far enough, which can cause discomfort. Be sure to put it in deep enough. Don't worry, the tampon can NOT get lost inside of you and the string is there to help you take it out.

Breath, cause you're done! Good job.

You can always try putting in a tampon again; it sometimes takes a few times to get it right.

Be sure to replace your tampon ever 4-6 hours, so you don't get Toxic Shock Syndrome, a horrible bacteria that can be deadly. (Sorry to scare you; just don't leave the tampon in over 6 hours, k?)

To remove the tampon, use the string to gently pull the tampon out. If it is tight and hurts, you either need to relax your muscles or try a lighter tampon.

Dispose of the dirty tampon as directed.

There is a great article about how to insert a tampon.

Good luck! :)

Dear God you people are rude to this girl. I didn't use my first tampon until I was 19. My mom wouldn't let me so I did it when I got out on my own. I had no females around and the directiosn on the box are crappy.

So..

My advice is if you have never used them buy plastic applicators. Best one for me is Pearl. You may like Playtex Gentle Glide.

Insert the plastic applicator into your vaginal cavity, holding the base. When it feels comfortable push the "trigger" and release the tampon. DO NOT KEAVE THE APPLICATOR INSIDE. God no..I made this mistake because as I said no one was there to help me except a man who said "It looks right..". And you're done! Throw away the applicator in a trash can.

Ah I also reccomend wearing a panty liner just in case you get a little leakage. Until you get the idea of what it feels like when it's full.

You mean, put "in" a tampon. Simple. You go get the box that they came in when you purchased them at the store and carefully read all the manufacturer's instructions and illustrations. And if you can feel it or it feels bothersome after you are finished, then remove it and start again with a fresh one. It takes a little practice for some females, but the main thing to always keep in mind when you are inserting it is to stay as relaxed as possible. This is important. Your vaginal walls have very strong muscles that really tighten up when you get nervous, so make sure you are relaxed, take some nice, slow and long breaths in and out and before you know it, you will have it in correctly with no fuss and able to get through your period with less hassle.

Put one foot on the side of the tub or toilet seat. Hold the tampon tube between your thumb and middle finger with the index finger on the end. Position the first inch into the vaginal canal. Put it at an angle tilting backward toward the bowel and push. Pull out the tube and toss.

The key is the angle toward the bowel, not straight up.

Good luck!

put the applicator in about 3/4 of the way and then push the actual tampon in. pull the applicator out and wala! the tampon is inserted. If you feel pain then take it out and try again. make shure to keep the applicator straight

You do not put on a tampon. Follow the directions in the package. If you don't have them ask your mom or another adult woman. If you don't have anyone to ask, leave them alone.

It goes in the butt.

Ease it in there gently with lots of lubrication (KY Jelly is best).

YOU ARE A WOMAN NOW!!!!
