what if he wasnt lying about the money but he lied about where he went, maybe he went to tulsa oklahoma . . .sure he stayed at a nice hotel, but he didnt say hwo long, i can go sit in the lobby and stay for an hour, but that doesnt mean i slept there, maybe the finest hotel in new york is only 3 dollars a night, complete with a whore and a lamp

He went on vacation away because that's what you do when you "go" on vacation--you go away from where you normally are found.
And that was his food expense. He slept on the roof of that expensive hotel the whole time.
