To get really good airfares takes some work. You should join mailing lists of the individual airlines because they have sales you sometimes can't get on the other sites. Check them often (at least once a week). They often have sales for sometimes as little as one day, but normally like one week to three weeks, but for only certains and other such things. I fly to Japan often and I have never paid over $900 and normally $600 or less. That's pretty cheap, especially when you go to those other sites and it's often over $1000 for the cheapest flight. Check the links below. A little work can save you $100-1500 depending on where you are going and how many people are flying.

Sign up for the special offers from Spirit airlines who have a special for flights starting at $39. Or you can sign up for NetSAAvers from American Airlines who have cheap International and Domestic Flights.
