some companies it is against policy
if your both out late at night, you both may call off following day, both will want same days off, the list can go on and on

This depends. Some work environments and companies have their own policies on that. Personally speaking, no it shouldn't a big deal if it's not affecting that work place. But, if it's affecting you, it's a personal deal, because say it doesn't work out. Then you have to be with them for 40 hours a week? Tense and awkward. So take that in consideration.

One of my best friends is engaged to a woman he met from work. And they tried their absolute best to keep it discreet from their coworkers.

So no, there's nothing wrong with it, but it could pose a problem with the company if they decide to confront you about it or lecture you about it being unprofessional. Never heard of that happening, but keep in mind that no matter how many times people "act" professional or talk like you have to grow up and be mature at all times in the real world, it is, more or less, like high school in terms of the gossip factor.

People gossip everywhere. That's the way it is.

Nothing wrong with it, however, it is something that should be considered risky at best. Does this person work for you or you for them? Are you in the same group? These are questions that should be considered prior to bringing into the work place what could end up becoming an uncomfortable situation should things not work out.

No...
Don't go cheating on her or flirting crazily with other chicks at your job...so that if and when you do break up it can be a friendly one.
It's not a big deal. It's cool to have people at work that you have big sexual tension going on...without really dating. Makes work worth it. No, I am not talking about casual screwing...just having the sexual tension there.

General Rule: It is never wrong to date anyone
Exception: unless it would appear incestuous; or you are not really into that person; or you have an ulterior motive for taking him or her on a date.
Date is supposed to be fun..NOw who syas it's wrong to have fun?

As long as neither of you are a superior in the company to the other and as long as you are both mature enough to handle it if things go bad. If you love your job though, I would say no - don't make your honey where you make your money...

speeking from experience, i found that dating someone you work with can be a very difficult thing, if something doesnt go the way you planned it to(one screws over the other) It can be very uncomfortable going to work and seeing that person everyday!!!

i used to think so..the whole "don't **** where you eat" philosophy...but i took a chance one day and asked out this guy at work....that was almost a year ago and we're still going strong...sometimes it works..sometimes it doesn't...but isn't that how life works with everything? you never know until you try.

Because you shouldn't mix business with pleasure. I know how it can be, I lost a job over it.
