She probably has an infection and it won't get better by itself. She could die, take her to a Vet ASAP!!!

NOTE TO ALL: IF THIS PERSON DIDN'T POST HER ADDL. INFO TIL LATER, YOU CAN HARDLY BLAME THE EARLIER POSTERS FOR THEIR CONCERN ABOUT THE SITUATION! They only had MINIMAL info to work with.

In any event--- if people cannot afford to take care of their pets, they should be given up for adoption.

You really need to get her to a vet. It could be mastitis, or an infection of the mammary gland or it could be a tumor. Stop her from chewing on it at all costs, that will make either situation much worse, you can get an e-collar (looks like a lamp shade) at most pet stores or vets. Beyond that, 14 years is really old to be having pups, she should be spayed asap to prevent further problems. Old females, especially ones who have recently given birth, run a very high chance of getting pyometra- where the uterus fills up with puss, this is life threatening and usually requires surgery to fix, and its not cheap. If spayed you save yourself alot of heartache and money in the end.

Take her to the vet. 14 is like a 95 year old women having a baby. I don't normally say things like this but what is wrong with you?!? No doubt the puppy died in labor because she couldn't push it out because her hips were set. Never EVER breed a dog over 4 years of age.

My first question for you is, why haven't you gotten her to the vet's by now? You have a dog on your hands that needs your help. When you got her, you took her into your home knowing that you would have to provide care for her. Why aren't you doing that now? Come on girl, she is 14 years old, how well do you think her biological system is? Your lucky she has not already passed on. Get her to the vet's ASAP!

My guess is that you are probably young yourself right?
No it's not your fault, it is your parents responsiblity if the dog is their care. I am betting the vet told your dad something and maybe he doens't want to tell you for fear it could hurt your feelings. I'd sit him down and ask him to pleaes be honest with you and let you know what is going on. Dogs should never be breed that are that old, and yes she could very well have something like cancer.

If she has been seen by the vet and he did nothing for her, it is likely just as he said...You can put bag balm on it to help sooth it, and cool packs will make it feel better.

I'm so sory that so many people were rude to you..I'm sure they didn't understand the situation...

Wet a cloth, and put a couple ic cubes in it, and hold them on her swollen area until it is all cool to the touch.. it will help if feel much better.

well normaly her boob should just... go away... maybe it is because she is chewing on it... could you put a plastic cone thingy around her neck to stop her from chewing on it?

MASTITIS (INFLAMMATION OF THE BREASTS)
Normal nursing glands are soft and enlarged. Diseased glands are red, hard, and painful.

I think this is what it has. look mastitis up on google there are alot of good sites about it.

IT CAN BE DEADLY SO CALL A VET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope I could have been a help!
