The least fake looking light blonde is a heavy high light. If you do an all over blonde it is tacky and even with natural blonde hair you will end up with a grow out line. To get a really light blonde go to Sally Beauty Supply and buy a high lighting cap. Pull your hair through it and use frosting bleach to get it to a really light blonde.
With the bit of your natural hair showing, it will still be believable but you will have a really light color.
Not even celebrities wear an all over color. Multi toned hair is wear it's at.
By the way Sun In and lemon juice will make even blonde hair turn orange, beware!

Platinum always comes out looking fake. Most likely you're probably going to need to use either bleach or a high lift blonde, either way you risk damaging your hair. You should definately let a professional do it. I also suggest you just do highlights first & if you like the results you can do an all over application.
You may also want to make sure you have a nice deep conditioner to help repair any damage. A leave in conditioner like Infusium 23 is also good to use after you wash your hair.

My friend (who highlights her hair in the winter..platinum blonde-ish) doesn't even need to highlight in the summer because she uses Sun-In or Touch of Sun whenever she's at the beach or sitting outside and it honestly completely brightens her hair without dye. It looks really good (not "fake") and natural.

Lemon Juice. Put it in your hair and go out in the sun for like 30 minutes at a time. The wash it out and use only a conditioner.

YEP. and its all natural. whenever you go out in a REALLY sunny day, u can squeeze a bit of lemo n juice onto your hair, or a few strands to highlight them. and then u can just stay in the sun. it really works, ive tried.
