KG, I don't have a SuperDrive or any other external device for burning DVDs, just my MacBook. So I can't burn a DVD with just a MacBook? How much does a SuperDrive cost?

Well, that really depends of which MacBook configuration you bought. MacBooks come with two different drive types preinstalled; Combo Drives and SuperDrives.

Combo Drives can only Read DVD's (no burning) and burn CD's. SuperDrives are able to burn DVD's. To find if your MacBook supports DVD burning, launch system profiler by clicking on  → About This Mac and then select "More Info". Under "Hardware", select Disk Burning. You could also launch Terminal (Applications → Utilities) and type "drutil list" without quotes and hit enter.

If you're drive doesn't support DVD burning, you've got two choices. 1) Phone Apple support and see if your drive can be upgraded (if they agree, it'll cost you). 2) Buy an external DVD writer. You may need to download and install PatchBurn to update OS X's drivers because many external DVD writers are unsupported on the Mac.

If it's equipped with a SuperDrive or external DVD writer.
