Although I can hand you no scientific proof there is a God, can you give me any that there isn't?

Note: Believing in anything requires faith. That's why they call it that. Can you prove to me that Alexander the Great ever existed, because I have no physical proof of that either but I believe it?

No. That is why I believe that God is a spirit that exists in each of us. i don't believe in any organized religion. The spirit (whatever you want to call it) exists within me. No powers or strengths or miracles or any hoober-goobers.

Your second question...don't know what the point was. If that is your logic then history is totally wrong. There is no proof that anything or anyone existed. We are all believing blindly.

I know that Merlin the Wizard existed too, but Religion has been known to demonize his existance.
Religions Demonize to Scare you into looking away to fill idividual minds with the Dis-ease Of The Imagination.
Religion/World Governments/Terrorists 1times1times1=1 and they are the same group of people.
Of course I'm talking about the head of religion itself.
I'm well Aware of things, I observe more than I take someones word for anything. I question everything. I am a Free Thinker, with an Open Mind for intellectual imput, not useless garbage.

Tell me this--Why would someone who is so much into GOD, talk about Jesus like they really knew him, preach the Ten Commandments, Go in search of this land called America, notice that these Indian natives, are living it up and doing as they please, start proselytizing their religion and way of life on the Indians, slaughtered their source of food(buffalo) Just cause they would not Bow/Kneel/be made a slave.
The Indians knew The Heavenly Father really well. Those Greedy War Mongers didn't---POSERS & Wannabees.

Remember in the book of Revelations, Remember the one with the 3 horns, well it's not a person, a place or a thing.
It's the Blue Blood Illuminate, a group/family of 3.
And they've been in the background for quite awile.

I agree completely with Infidel E. Just because u say god exists doesn't mean he does there is no proof of him, there is however lots of proof Alexander the Great was real.

Physical evidence of Alexander's existence exists. The scientific proof denouncing the existence of God is that no physical evidence exists proving that he exists. Ponder that, and let your faith guide you beliefs.

great question.

my stance:

i'm spiritual, not religious. that means, to me, that i LIKE to believe in a higher being who is good and loving. it's chicken soup for my soul. heals me when i think all is lost and the world is crap. but, i personally have no proof of anything. period. i read what i'm fed in school, and what i read on my own. all words of MAN. so if there is a higher being...how is it that man can record all of this.

i have often pondered that religion, as it is used today, was instituted in a time when it seemed society was at a loss...chaos... and to implement some "rule" or "law to live by" the idea of a higher being, omnipotent/omniscient, was disseminated to the masses as a means of control. but, in a good way. heck...if "faith" in a higher being means you'll live a good life, and do good unto others --- THEN BELIEVE! it makes everyone's life easier.

so, while i find the idea of religion, particularly christianity, has more holes than swiss cheese, the IDEA behind it makes perfect sense. the Dollar is no more than the faith we put in the gold that backs it. if everyone ceased to believe in it...the dollar would hold no value. same principle as with religion. the thing is...what the religion touts/offers. i like to believe that karma is real, and doing good begets good. since nothing is perfect, we all endure pain/strife. but we can overcome that and be good people.

i digress.

primordial soup is proven in lab tests. but, i still have MY faith, because it's comforting.

fin. :)

Just because I choose not to follow a specific religion doesn't mean I don't believe in anything. I believe in a god, but I don't believe we can put into words who or what this god is. A lot of organized religions seem too structured, too rule-based where I think we should each discover for ourselves what or who we think this god is. Even though it's impossible to put into words, we can each have our own picture of this god...in an organized religion they hand you a pamphlet and say, "Here, look, this is God and this is what He wants you to do." So, no, I can't prove to you that there is no God...and I wouldn't try to because I believe in a god. Make any sense?

It's all shaky ground when science is asked to prove (or disprove) religion. The best argument I can give is that the lack of evidence of a God (or of divine intervention in general) persuades me that this inactivity is caused by total absence, not by negligence. The definition of faith, when truly tested, would be those who stand by and support their god, even if it had been indisputably disproven. For the record, I am not religious.

This is a fallacy. You are the one who claims there is a god. My dis-belief is simply a default position.

If I claim I was visited by aliens last night, would you believe me without proof? If you couldn't prove that aliens did not visit me last night, does that make it true? No!

You must prove that your version of god exists, then we can submit it to scientific scrutiny like everything else.

Prove that we all came from Adam and Eve! Even though I was raised up with a morman/christan family... I think we evolved from monkeys... Cause it's pretty funny with religion now-a-days sayin' it's a sin to marry or have sex with any of your sisters/brothers/mother/father/or anyother relitive... well there was only Adam and Eve and they had to have kids, and their kids had to have kids, and thats just a long line of incest. And ofcouse the monkeys had to come from somewhere but don't know where... I don't really care much about that stuff.

We believe in Alexander the Great because of what science and history has shown us. You believe in God because your mother never gave you any other choice.
